1) Utah does not have a waiting period after you get your marriage license.
2) Texas does have a 72 waiting period after you get your marriage license, however if one or both of you are active duty military with an active duty ID they give you a waiver to get married with no waiting.
Being in the military does not change the process you still have to go through the process as a civilian would.
Now to go to Utah for the weekend and do everything and go back to Texas you would need to get an "out of bounds chit" or just go and hope nothing happens and you are late. Depending on where in Utah she lives this might be a little difficult to do if you plan on driving up there. I have made the trip from Delta to Ft. Worth and it was a long drive. You would have better luck flying it would be a lot quicker.
Hope this helps.

Ok heres the steps to do this if you don't want to talk to your commander about it:
1. Research the state on a marriage license. Some states don't require a blood test and give you the license right there but others make you wait with a blood test.
2. If you are on orders, you don't have to wait.
3. If the state doesn't require you to take a blood test and lets you have the license right then and there, do it.
4. Also check on military weddings/civie ceremonies. In some states they don't let you get married by the court on sunday. Some do actually lol
5. Also check the price
6. Flights (check that out and see what dates and times they are available)
Thats basically it, if everything is good then go for it.

If you marry her in Texas, there are no longer blood tests. If she could come here and the two of you go get the license would be good. There is a 72 hour waiting period after getting the license, so I don't think in a weekend you would be able to get a license (court house closed on Saturday and Sunday) and get married. Best wishes to you both, may you live a happy long life together.

If you are looking for just a long weekend for a marriage, You can put in for a 4 day pass. I am sure your entire chain of command would approve it for the reason listed. Now you can go in the hole on your leave days, just not too many and it has to be approved by Battalion level as they dont like this to happen. Good luck to you and her.

Can they come down there? I know they waived (in Texas) the 3 day waiting period between getting the license and actually getting married since my hubby was military (actually they waived the fee as well).
Then you'd have to get her put on deers, get on housing list (if you're going to live on post).
Congrats! And I'm very happy you came home safely.
We're thinking about Fort Hood ourselves.

Apply for marriage license with the county you are getting married in. Put in for a 4 day weekend pass with your company commander and explain your situation. Believe it or not there are some commanders that will do everything they can to help you. You can also visit the chaplain and they can help you.

First of all you NEED to marry her? That's just strange wording.
But no.. you cannot just marry her like in a like weekend.. First of all you have to apply for a marriage license. You have to be there in person to apply. Then there is a waiting period. I doubt the courthouse is open on the weekends. Well it is Utah, Mormons are well.. different.
I'm glad to know this is your first time getting married.

You would have to get the license during the weekday- and find someone to qualified on the weekend to marry you-any pastor probably could- then they file the document-and I don't know of special perks for military- congrats- D

Have her start working on it from her end. It will be easier for her to get everything lined up since she is there.
Check this out ... http://marriage.about.com/cs/marriagelicenses/p/utah.htm
and http://www.utahmarriage.org/index.cfm?id=owiglL0svj
Looks like you could get married in a weekend by a justice of the peace or something similar. Perhaps she has a pastor that can do it from her church ...
Good luck
