Firearm ownership is both an American tradition and a right we hold dear in this country but some do not agree with this and try to take away those traditions, criminals will have guns no matter what but sometimes legal gun owners are suffering the most.

Will Hillary destroy our right to bear arms? will she create harsh restrictions? will she make a new assault weapon ban? (an assault weapon is a semi-automatic weapon that looks like a military weapon) that will not sunset?

Bill Clinton gave an interview to Germany's Spiegel in which he said,

"The American people owe Hillary a debt of gratitude for all that she's done for them. She gave up a career in law and politics for them and for me as well - I already know how much I owe her. So, the Oval Office is owed to her because not only does she deserve it but she earned it. Look at all that she's been through, I know I've contributed my fair share. She'll be a great president, even better than me."

Do you agree with him on all those counts?

Are you kidding me? Never been executive on local, state or national level. Never elected to anything before 2000. Only ran for senator to "use" a state she had no intention of helping.

She's been living in Washington, DC since 1992 and doesn't want to leave.

How selfish and presumptuous!

Seems to me eventually we will be in a far worse position against the terrorist supporting, eventual nuclear bomb wielding, Russian backed extremist regime in Tehran.

"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

The literal interpretation of this Amendment is that people - you know, people, like you or me - have an inalienable right to own and carry small weapons, such as guns.

Two arguments are sometimes lodged against the literal interpretation - one is that "the people" doesn't mean the people. The other is that the whole right is limited to purposes of national defense - which I'll address in another question.

The Fourth Amendment protects "the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers...." No Leftist (or anyone else) in the US argues that "the people" in the 4th Amendment doesn't mean individual people.

If by "the people" the Founders meant something other than what they meant in the 4th Amendment, why would they use the same term?

It seems pretty straightforward - the people means the people.

Are men by their nature just drawn to war. It seems throughout history that men can only find glory in battle.

A friend of mine is a jailer at the county lock-up and asked if this would be cruel and unusual punishment. the inmates don't eat till after 12:30 pm, so he was going to make a bag of microwave popcorn at noon and set it by the fan for 5 minutes (allowing the smell to go throughout the floor) before eating it. What do you think?

Hey guys,
I'm trying to plan a vacation outside the U.S. I am a legal resident, but now my U.S. citizenship status is pending. Does anyone know if I can leave the country while this process is pending? Or do I have to wait 'til it's "all said and done" before I can go anywhere???

In Canada, gays are thrilled with the legalization of gay marriage and they cannot fathom how anyone (such as Christians) could dare even discuss how to recall the legalization of gay marriage and "mess with the way things are now".

In the US, gays are furious that gay marriage isn't legalized, and they get even more enraged when they are told not to "mess with the way things are now".

Isn't this just curious?

Yeah, I thought so, too.

live in texas and I have a 9 month old son with my Exbf. He did not sign the acknowledgement of paternity papers at the hospital so there for I am the legal guardian. We were going to make arrangements for him to keep him this past weekend but he could not stop and talk civil to me. All he was doing was calling me name and hanging up.No arrangements were set in stone. He ended up calling the police on me and telling them I was keping his son from him. The police and him came over to my house and I was scared out of my mind. I am the legal guardian and I wanted him off my property so the police had him leave and explained with out a court order I dont have to give him the child. (its not that I didnt want him to see him, his tone and the names he called me scared me) I have started the process for child support but have decided to retain a lawyer given the circumstances. I dont have my appointment till 1/30 though. I am so scared of what he will do in the mean time. Any advice???

Some people speak of 'economic inequality' as if this is a problem. I guess maybe they'd feel better if a doctor and a janitor both made the same amount of money, drove the same car and lived in the same type of home.

What sense does that make?

I think this statement in the record of the house of representatives makes it so clear to me that the war in Iraq is wrong.. anybody else?

(Mr. WU asked and was given permission to address the House for 1 minute.)

Mr. WU. Mr. Speaker, 4 years ago, this administration took America to war in Iraq without adequate evidence. Since that time, the administration has not listened to the American people, it hasn't listened to our professional military, and it certainly hasn't listened to this Congress.

It was said of a prominent businessman in downtown Portland that he never listened to anybody and that if he was ever drawn in a cartoon he would be drawn without ears.

Now, this President has listened to some people, the so-called Vulcans in the White House, the ideologues. But unlike the Vulcans of Star Trek, who made the decisions based on logic and fact, these guys make it on ideology. These aren't Vulcans. There are Klingons in the White House. But unlike the real Klingons of Star Trek, these Klingons have never fought a battle of their own.

Don't led faux Klingons send real Americans to war. It is wrong.
