We will never be isolated; the world will not allow us to be, even if we WANT to be. The world comes begging for American goods and services. The war is not isolating us. It may or may not be a good idea to continue it, but we should not be affected by the statements of other countries. Screw them!!

This is a war we never should have gotten involved with in the beginning. The problem, though, is that since we did get involved, we are at least partially responsible for the outcome. We got rid of a dictator, but in his place we created anarchy and civil war. While I certainly agree that escalating the war is the stupidest thing we could do, we need to find a way to stabilize the country so peace can exist in our absence.

Because eventually it will force the world to get along for an economy that will be golden for all. A free Iraq will cause Islamofacist regimes in the surrounding countries to fall from within. That is why they fear a free Iraq with such fervor. Hence monies will no longer be going to extremist/ terrorists. Palestinians will get their state and the destruction of Israel an impossibility.

We should be so lucky to be isolated in the world. And before the age of jet airplanes we pretty much were.
Our founding fathers warned us of foreign entanglements but we've gone around sticking our noses in everyone else's business for so long, i doubt we could go back to the way it should be.

We may as well. The damage is done. The rest of the world does not like Americans right now. They are reminded of Viet Nam with our presence in the Middle east. If you get a chance check yahoo news from the point of view of other countries. Go to yahoo's home page-other services-pick a European country. The articles written are from the point of views of these countries. At this point i feel that we should finish what we started. To leave now would just encourage more dislike for the States.

The U.S.A. would be happy to leave Iraq if the Sunnis and the Shiites would quit killing each other and if the terrorists would get the hell out of Iraq.
If the U.S.A. were to retreat from Iraq, the ensuing bloodbath would rival that of Viet Nam when we retreated from that conflict. It is a shame the other factions in Iraq can't learn from the Kurds.

How would you say its isolating us exactly? There are two sides to every war, the press likes to focus on the ones who don't like us because it gets better ratings. So all you ever hear is the negative. There are plenty of people out there on our side.

"isolating us in the world? "
What are you talking about? We are the standard of the world. We are what all others use to measure their success. This isolation thing.....did you just make this up in your mind? If you did you have to stop doing that. It not good for you.
