Some people speak of 'economic inequality' as if this is a problem. I guess maybe they'd feel better if a doctor and a janitor both made the same amount of money, drove the same car and lived in the same type of home.

What sense does that make?

When someone begins talking about "economic inequality" they are really talking about redistribution of wealth. The only people who have a problem with "economic inequality" are those people who were unwilling to do what it takes to advance their careers through education or personal drive.

Why should a janitor, who had no schooling, make as much as a doctor who paid for 8 years of schooling? The only place that I think we have a real problem is when it comes to education. Educators are highly underpaid.

Now this is a question I can agree with you upon.

You're right.

Even at the height of the Soviet era in Europe, there was still an elite oligarchy controlling the purse strings.

I guess the 'equality mentality' people think that hard work is great, especially when it helps someone who doesn't want to work.

Their is a simple reason economical equality is good and economical inequality is bad which is all jobs are required to keep up efficiency i the scenario with the doctor and the janitor. the doctor's job is to heal sick people
a janitor's job is to clear wast which breeds germs which makes people sick. one helps the other.

nothing. but if you ask a liberal maybe thay can explain it better. and in defense of republicans, if the only people on social programs were the ones who needed it and not some third generation vampire who thinks it is owed to them i would say everybody would be fine. but these people (the non entitled) were forced to get out there and work, America would be a better place. you can make more money on entitlement programs laying around the house than getting a job a gaining somew degree of self respect.slackers!!!

I agree. I see nothing wrong with paying or allowing someone who works harder to achieve more a ability to make more. I think it is best to allow people to reap what they sow. If you prepare yourself well you can live well. There is nothing wrong with being a janitor but he doesn't have to work as hard to get ready for his career as a doctor so he doesn't deserve equal pay.

if that's the way you feel then why not just tell poor people 'tough luck for you.'

because, come election time, you need their votes as much as anyone else's.

i say you should be honest about what you really believe and not whine about when most of the nation - us poor and middle class slobs - decide that we don't want guys like you running the nation.

Let's let the Paris Hiltons run the world then, it'll be a total paradise, right?

Economic Inequality is more than about money; better health, lower crime, and better social standings come with economic equality, I hope you do realize that.
