Terrorism and radical islam want to impose their highly oppressive lifestyles upon us (oppression of women, restricting any sort of freedom of religion, no booze)

Shouldn't it be the liberals that are up in arms about this threat? Why is it the conservatives are the most loud about the threat of terrorism, not the libs?

Most Americans --- when questioned --- (according to national polls) believe that George Bush is either Stupid, Dishonest, or just plain
Evil, but the answer --- in their opinion --- is usually just "ONE of the above". In reality, of course, people are far more complex than that --- having many component layers to both their positive and negative sides. So let's take a moment and think about this individual's complexities (relative to his past words and deeds) as both a man and a President before answering.

Numbers-wise --- just HOW would we break his negative side down, and WHY?

are not fighting for God and Country, and it is just about the oil and the money and that we are Godless people now? How can anyone say that? After what happened here on 9/11? And all the terrorism in the World going on and all the bombings? Aren't we the people in America God fearing and know this is the right thing to do? That to allow any tyrants to take over the lives of innocent people, torture them and kill them is wrong? That as a free country to protect ourselves against these people we must fight against these atrocities against humanity? I believe that God would want us to save people from gas chambers or toxic gases that Saddam used on his own people, don't you? Money is not the issue? We don't own that oil, and have no way of getting that big money ever, and those soldiers fighting out there get very little pay let alone they may lose their lives? It is wrong to accuse our soldiers of being greedy, isn't it? They are very brave souls.

I want to enlist in the Marines as a Machine Gunner (Ive talked to a recruiter, taken the ASVAB, and can pass the Initial Strength Test easy), so theres no problem for enlisting.

But I want to start getting an associates degree WHILE Im in the Corps; what is something fairly easy to get on base or online? I know thats kind of broad but help me out here. I would want to get an associates degree in Criminal Justice or something hands on, your not necessarily doing paper work day after day after day. Any hints?

I know that the president is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. But with the non-binding resolution calling for no troop surge and threats being made to cut off the war funding, I am curious. Just how many Commanders-in-Chiefs are there in Congress anyway?

Why did Al Gore not want the absentee ballots counted?

Was it because a majority of absentee ballots are from military members, of which a majority vote Republican? Or was there something else?

As far as I know, the U.S. has signed the U.N. declaration of human rights and should uphold its principles when dealing with immigration. If you can't guarantee the freedom and security of the people who live in your country, you're not fulfilling your moral obligation.

It's not about whether or not your in favor of illegal immigration, it's about whether you handle it with compassion or sheer racism.

My boyfriend is stuck in an annoying situation when it comes to getting his birth certificate.
We live in California, but he was born in New York.
He wants to get his driver's licence, but cannot get one without his birth certificate, which he lost. In order to get his birth certificate, he needs his driver's licence (or California ID- which also does not have and cannot get without his birth certificate).
I heard there was some kind of form he could get from the police dept, or somewhere, explaining his special circumstances. When I asked the police station, they had no idea what I was talking about. What can he do to get his BC besides traveling to NY.
He has a copy of the birth certificate (which the DMV won't accept for issuing an ID), he has his Social Security card, and he has old highschool IDs and a work ID (which are not valid IDs to get a BC). He has no bills in his name. What can he do and/or where can he go to get some help on this.

So if a women was accidently killed in combat who was a month pregnant you would not consider the child and complain about it when you're complaining about Bush, or will you scream that an innocent and her unborn, "undeveloped" child was killed?

CNN (and pretty much all other media) seems to be focusing on the additional troops in Iraq, but when I first saw that speech I took it differently.

To me it seemed like Bush was saying, "Cooperate now or we're outta there." The more troops is just so we can say we gave it our all and reduce our guilt for causing the mess.

Did anyone else get the same impression?
