are not fighting for God and Country, and it is just about the oil and the money and that we are Godless people now? How can anyone say that? After what happened here on 9/11? And all the terrorism in the World going on and all the bombings? Aren't we the people in America God fearing and know this is the right thing to do? That to allow any tyrants to take over the lives of innocent people, torture them and kill them is wrong? That as a free country to protect ourselves against these people we must fight against these atrocities against humanity? I believe that God would want us to save people from gas chambers or toxic gases that Saddam used on his own people, don't you? Money is not the issue? We don't own that oil, and have no way of getting that big money ever, and those soldiers fighting out there get very little pay let alone they may lose their lives? It is wrong to accuse our soldiers of being greedy, isn't it? They are very brave souls.

People outside of the military often have a hard time understanding exactly why we are at war. But that is not the point now. We ARE at war and need to find a way to crush the insurgency. Look at the big picture...everyday me fellow Marines are fighting in Iraq and dying or being horrifically misfigured. Does it matter what brought us there in the first place? No. The men and women in service do make US policy and do not order themselves overseas. They VOLUNTARILY joined the military and with that comes following the orders passed on by the higher ups. Support the men and women in uniform. I can't stand to see people bash our troops; and most of them do it because they wish they had the courage to stand up and fight for something.

America has become a country of lip service. they are the parents who constantly tell their children - the next time you do that (mind you it's already the 100th time) you're gonna pay. America needs to stand back up and support our military, commander in cheif and "we the people" . those idiots that think freedom is free are as looney as those that think this is about oil. had that been the case - it'd been over long ago. saddam was a sick twisted individual who was along the lines of hitler with his mass murdering and "hospitals". read some of the stories from 2001-2004 that ran in the detroit free press about people who escaped his lunacy -- it's very eye opening.

God Bless America and our Military Heros!!!

The media has a way of saying things that make people believe 1 thing when a different thing is happening. They leave out the good things sometimes and report heavily on the bad. The same things happen in politics. Don't let politicians or the media fool you, as it seems they already have. Talk so someone who has been there. My neigbor is an army reserve and has been in Iraq. I have a relative in the Navy who is in Bagdad right now. I have several friends who are Iraqis and have been there visiting relatives in the past year. Everything they have told me is totally different from what politicians and the media are saying.

Well, I'm pretty much an atheist, having seen what religion has done in Africa, Bosnia, and Afghanistan, and I've served 20+ years.
As long as you bring this up, as a matter of fact where was God to allow Saddam, Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot etc etc etc?
I have seen zero reporting about soldiers "being greedy". So you might be confusing the war aims with the those who are carrying out the mission imposed by the Commander in Chief

Our military is doing a honorable and challenging task in Iraq.

The view of America has changed over the way the war has been handled, but the troupes are not blamed for it.

The trouble is at the top of the chain. We had no right to invade Iraq.

Anyone who would accuse an American soldier of being greedy is either mentally challenged or a fool.
