Why didnt the US army see fit to have operations to search for tunnels?

In afghanistan, pakistan, or Iraq?

I mean being that one of Osama Bin Ladens construction companies actually specialized in construction of tunnels.

I mean tunnels have been used in every major military campaign since WW2 and I do think it is worth the effort if you want to achieve victory

I can assure you, from first hand experience, that the US Army is well aware of tunnels being used in Afghanistan. I can also assure you that we sweep them and destroy them when we find them.

As far as Pakistan goes, they are our allies, and it wouldn't be good for diplomatic relations for our soldiers to be tramping about their country-side.

Iraq has a different type of terrain (mostly urban) and so the insurgents have something better than tunnels to work out of for safety... actual buildings.

Only the commander in chief can give the orders, and he only gives the orders that he wants to give.

Being as how he never went to Vietnam, he has absolutely NO idea on how the urban guerilla war was fought back then. Remember George did say he doesnt read newspapers or books. So he doesnt read any history.

Anyway, because George has no idea about the Vietcong using tunnels, he doesnt think to look for them. Theres probably also no Vietnam vets in Iraq right now (after all it was over 30 years ago) and therefore noone has the knowledge of how to fight urban guerillas.

And this lack of knowledge and communication is why the USA is LOSING the war in Iraq so badly.

Ha, Ha. why waste time and effort, and possibly soldiers. We have weaponery that will destroy any tunnell
