Yes they have. They need to remember that at no time has amnesty ever worked. In 1986 Regan had this brain storm, give them amnesty, it will fix illegal immigration for once and for all, and very very few took part. Amnesty never has worked and never will. All that illegal aliens need is a one way trip home.

The people who are in favor of the so called "amnesty", take into account the needs of the American economy without letting prejudice or misinformation overcome them.
This is not only about the immigrants needs, it's also about the employers' needs and the needs of the economy as well.
Besides of the employers, many business are finding a fertile market in the immigrants. Why do you think big companies like comcast, walmart, j.c. penney spend millions if not billions of dollars in advertising in Spanish? or why do you think you have "press 2 for English" when you call them?
To be realistic, they (the illegal immigrants) are an economic reality in the U.S. and it's not going to go away just because you or me keep whining about it. Therefore, the pro "amnesty" logic is let those without a criminal record (being here illegally is currently not a criminal but a civil offense), pay taxes and are not a burden on the social system stay.

sure i'm no longer positive what shadows they are talking about. i do not see too many hiding in California from the information I see.right here in Arizona the illegals attempt to be really quiet.The mentality is slightly distinct.they seem sensing a huge difference in body of recommendations from even the unlawful human beings that employ them.there is very no longer a blanket amnesty,the politicians are not stupid.grasping,liars,unscrupulous yet no longer stupid. I will never understand why people believe that by giving amnesty to people who wash our dishes, babysit our kids, do our gardening, and build our homes America will suffer. It will BENEFIT. They do HARD WORK, that makes us a better society. They will have to come forward, we will know who is where. They will be able to get medical care and an education. These things are not as everyone claims just more tax dollars we are wasting. THEY HELP US. (I don't know why people don't get this. Somehow they think you can't give the country more than you take unless you were born here).

Now don't get me wrong, if you have committed assault, stolen someone's identity, dealt drugs, other serious crimes, out you go. No amnesty. But this is not the majority. It's a small MINORITY.

I think so. Part of what makes America great is freedom. We can all agree on that. Another part of what makes America great is it's legal system. It is one of the only systems that presumes you are innocent until proven guilty. What these pro amnesty people want to do is say it is ok not to follow or laws and, in turn, flount our legal system. It says it is ok because your country is poor. It is ok to be a criminal. My only worry is that if you reward illegal behavior by granting them citizenship, what other laws will they break?
