Shouldn't the liberals be the most outspoken group against terrorism and radical islam?

Terrorism and radical islam want to impose their highly oppressive lifestyles upon us (oppression of women, restricting any sort of freedom of religion, no booze)

Shouldn't it be the liberals that are up in arms about this threat? Why is it the conservatives are the most loud about the threat of terrorism, not the libs?

Liberals don't give a damn about individual rights as long as they get into power.
If part of their Muslim base wants to oppress women - that's fine as long as it doesn't effect their power base. They wouldn't want to take on anything controversial anyway.
I think anyone with a brain can see the hypocrisy, danger, power grabbing and short sighted lunacy in the liberal agenda - but that's just my opinion and it certainly wasn't supported on Nov 8th!

because of the fact people who criticize radical Islam tend to insinuate that anyone followers of Islam are radical. Many family members incidents interior the US are committed by using some distance-spectacular, Christian extremists. The OKC Bombing, the IRS airplane crash, and so on. Conservatives scream that Christianity is being assaulted whilst the media mentions the interior maximum ideals of those extremists. Conservatives are 10x greater gentle on the subject of the faintest grievance or distortion of Christianity - they don't even see the hypocrisy.

The problem is that Bush has tried to fight terrorism by:

1) Invading a country (Iraq) that had nothing to do with 9/11 or Osama Bin Laden, thereby angering the Muslim world and creating more terrorists.

2) Spying on American citizens without a warrant, which is a violation of the freedom we're supposed to be protecting.

3) Holding people without charge or access to legal counsel, and subjecting them to torture, which is one step away from Soviet-style gulags, not to mention being a violation of the Geneva Convention.

4) Squandering widespread sympathy for the US after 9/11 by arrogantly dismissing world opinion and insisting on attacking Iraq with little support from other nations.

You can blindly follow Bush if you want, but his foreign policy has been mostly a failure.

Apparently you haven't noticed. Liberals are very outspoken about "Bush's" war in Iraq. The U.S. was attacked by terrorists on 9-11. Bush responded by attacking Iraq, who as we all know had nothing to do with 9-11. This has drawn hundreds of billions and countless military away from the real war on terror. Liberals to fight the real war on terror. We are against creating wars.

Because the extreme right believe in controlling people through fear and intimidation. They sold fear to the country based on lies about Iraq buying nukes from Niger, mobile chem labs, Iraq hwlped Al-Queda attack on 9/11 and so on. Just think of it as the president who cried wolf.

Not ONE liberal (which I am not) suggested that the war on TERROR is wrong, they say (and I agree) that the war in IRAQ is wrong. Once again, a right wing lie has been spoken. Which suggest that the extreme right with PH-Ds (if you are telling the truth about that) trully believes that it can lie in your face and get away with it.

Because liberals pander to whomever they feel are being oppressed...and since Islam isn't a Christian religion, they view it as being such.
