kinda weird, considering the 'grand coalition' never was so grand to begin with. I guess it just goes to show why the shrub is increasing troop numbers.

death of Americans is self perpetuating, and that guy, that wouldn't allow any of his training camps to be established in Iraq, Saddam Hussein, has been hung by the neck. With old George around why bother hijacking planes? 20,000 more troops to Iraq! Could there be a better time for Osama to order a kabab, mint tea, put his fluffly slippers, and just watch it all on Aljazeera?

How many people in here trust their news sources to be clear, unbiased and fair....and which ones do you trust more/less?

I've personally had problems with BBC, CNN, NBC, FOXnews, TIME, ABC, NY TIMES and quite a few others.

two of the more trustworthy, i've found, is washington post and the economist

I had to do an essay question about the Great Compromise. It asked, among other things, what were the terms of the Great Compromise. I put about the two houses, Senate and House of Representatives, and pretty much everything else. However my teacher counted off 20 points for not talking about the three branches of government and seperation of powers. I argued that both the New Jersy Plan and the Virgina Plan agreed in these areas, thus not being part of the compromise. She told me that it was an offical documented compromise, in which the terms were clearly stated about the three branches and such. I didn't really doubt that until I started looking up on the internet about the Great Compromise and found nothing about either the Judical or Executive branches. I'm sure that I just missed it in my sources, but I would love to have clarification.

A person works for a major corporation. This person begins to have health problems (not been there long enuff for FMLA). Due to illness' this person misses work, there have been times that it was because they were in the hosp, so vacation, etc were not an option. This person racks up attendance points (8 will get you fired). She gets to a final written warning. She ends up ill again, with note in hand she plans to go into work the following day, but is stopped by a phone call telling her that the major corporation needs to let her go, since she missed a day and was on a final written warning. (State she lives in is an "at will" state). Do you think this is fair? is she being punished for health problems?

Fully 70 percent of Americans oppose sending more troops, and a like number don't think such an increase would help stabilize the situation there.

drive in a bus lane..... you'll get fined and points
park on a zig zag, on a quiet road at night.... fine and points

get accused of drunk driving...even half hour after getting home, the police are entitled to invade your home and breathalize you and arrest you...and it's up to you to prove that you werent drunk when you were driving even though it was half hour before

On the other hand..
get caught with £6,000 worth of drugs.... no charge
caught driving under the influence of drugs, the CPS wont prosecute
even the heroin junkie, who was caught driving under the influence wasnt charged didnt lose his licence until a later date when he was caught drunk driving.

is it any wonder, decent middle class driver feel that they are at more risk of being prosecuted than junkies and dealers?

I can't imagine the feeling of those who are about to get sent into Baghdad for Bush's surge. Imagine, signing up to defend your country, and instead being put in harm's way for political reasons.

I was 11 when my mother passed, my dad remarried & when I was 12, my step-mother adopted me and my siblings w/o our knowledge. They have since divorced and my father has remarried and I am now 40. My father supports me & my siblings who all want to be unadopted so that our mother's name is shown on our b/c. I have been married twice and it hurts that each time I apply for a marriage license, I have to put her name down as my mother and not my actual mother. I have not seen or spoke to her in over 12 years. She is not my mother and I no longer what her associated with me legally either.

It seems to me that everytime something negative happens to the Americans in the war on terror, a democrat cheers. I am discouraged by the people claiming to "support the troops" and at the same time, talking about how little they've done. Everyday I tell my (Navy sailor) brother how proud of him I am and what a great job they are doing...THAT's supportive! Everyday I call the 800 number given to families of soldiers and get the latest "update". I hear the Captain, the Master Chief, and the Grand Master Chief saying what a GREAT JOB these guys are doing. They talk about the PROGRESS they've made and so on... Why aren't more Americans on America's side in the war???
