Someday in the distant distant future we will be out of Iraq for the most part but we will NEVER be completely out of Iraq and most certainly never be out of the middle east. I am sure you have heard the phrase "history repeats itself". Well, history has been repeating itself there for hundreds of years and will continue to do so for hundreds of years. As long as our presence in Iraq helps even the slightest bit America will be there for the people who cant take care of themselves. We always will. Right or wrong that is how it will be. Your friends are with thousands of people and will eventually get to come back home so keep them in your thoughts but know that what they are doing is for a reason and be proud of them as they should be of themselves

When the Iraqi's stand up, we will stand down. Problem is, they don't seem to be standing up. It's up to them now. They must stand up and accept the gift that we've given them. Our patience as a country will only last so long.
To answer your question, yes with will leave Iraq - either to a solid Iraqi government or in shambles. The choice depends upon the Iraqi people.

WWII was over in 1945. We still have military in Germany and in Japan. The Korean war was over in 1953. We still have a large military presence there.
Most of the muslims in the Middle East are just plain wacked out. They will harass and kill until the US gives up, even if it takes 50 years.

Perhaps after Bush and his supporters have sent in the 21,000 more troops, and break America's back with more billions of dollars, with nothing achieved, but more dead American soldiers returning in coffins and more wounded soldiers returning to America's care. Then, perhaps, we can be prepared to face and accept that America really lost the War with our young men and women dragging their tails under their butts to escape Iraq. Perhaps, then, we can then face up to real facts and condemn those who had voted and supported America's continuing stay in Iraq only to withdraw then as real cowards!

I believe we will leave Iraq a lot sooner then most people think, if not before Bush,s term is up IT will happen as soon as we get a new president.

Eventually.. just like Viet Nam.. takes time and I hate it also. I have friends also in the military..Its cruel but its something that has to be done. Not sure if its helping or hindering. We just all have to ride it out together.
