The problem is this. The sectarian wars between the two religious factions will never be eliminated, tamed or anything else. What is going to happen is this: President Bush will send in the 20,000. Then a few months will pass and he will announce that we are winning this war with the insurgents but we need more troops to finish the job. More troops will be sent. Then as if on cue, a few months, or perhaps a year will pass and the President will again announce that we are winning however we need more troops to ensure that the areas that we have cleared will remain so with more troops on the ground. This charade will keep going on. The upshot of all of this is that
is WE WILL NEVER LEAVE THE AREA. We will always have troops in the area and the troops will continue to die.
No matter what the administration states the main concern is oil. Always has been, always will be. I am a Republican and I say this. The only direction we should take is West, far west all the way to the New York harbor with our troops.

I think that if president bush had wanted to do what he has been trying to do this whole time he should have sent all these troops here in the first place gotten it all done and over with 2 years ago. We didn't have to be here this long. We just need to quit dancing around the tree and cut the damn thing down.

I don't think more troops are the answer we need to get the press outta there and give the military commanders the greenlight and kick some butt. Americans are combat solders and they need to do what they are trained to do. If the ground troops draw fire send a tank with them and blow the house. Where is Gen. George S. Patton when we need him.

Dub'Ya is a mere puppet for those trying to cover their collective *sses. He's too much a fool to have come up with this elaborate WMD scenario on his own, but as long as troops remain in the middle east, oil prices will remain at record levels, generously lining the pockets of his family of crooks and theives.
sending more troops can only lead to one thing, more funerals with flag covered caskets. I can't handle going to anymore!
The Iraqi people don't want our troops there, let's bring them all home to where they will be appreciated, not shot at

I've always felt we needed to give them a chance to get on their feet, and should look to the Iraqi government for guidance on how long of a chance that should be.
Looks like the Iraqis don't want more American troops. Excellent, say I.

I am ok if he is the first one out there fighting. But since we know him and his rich friends' children wont be going- i am going to have to then say no i am not ok with it. And neither should anyone else. I think the longer you let a child have a pacifier, the longer it takes to wean them to becoming functional adults by themselves.....
I also say that there have been more innocent people killed through this facade of getting rid of terrorists. WE are leaving our homeland borders open to attacks whatever happened to takeing care of your own home first?

I would want a President who is not afraid to do what he is doing, but agree, that our troops need to come home... Haven't the other "few" countries left us behind as it is.... If anything minimal security while they protect their own... Hell, it is their country --If they dont value human life, let them live with no help from any one but their own kind.

i think it stinks! sending more troops over there will not make him a better president and it will not end this stupid war that bush and bush alone started.

I disagree. Mr. Bush is committed to winning the war against terrorists. Winning the war in Iraq is a part of that plan.
