Spot on... He keeps up the lie. We know better. If Al-Qaeda are in Iraq it is because of his foreign policy.
What makes me want to puke is that he picks on the weak and won't stand up to N. Korea and F..ing China or Saudi Arabia.

That is the thing, they are there because of us. And we do not have the reason to go back to Somalia (other than C-130s) other than tracking down the terrorists. Iraq has oil.
And we cannot go trapezing through whatever country we feel like when we find that Al-Qaeda may be there. They are sovereign nations, and soon enough the UN will become irked enough at us that they will do something to us.
Right now, we are trying to kill a mouse with a sledgehammer. We need to get some mouse traps. (i.e. increase our spy-game)
Afghanistan, that was a good call in the war on terror.
Iraq was not.

the ethiopians did the dirty work and cleared out somalia. Some women and children (collateral damage) were killed but they werent fighting a PC war and the rest moved out. After they cleared it out it was acceptable by our military and politicians to bomb. If we could either clear out the citizens or someone else would do it we could bomb in Iraq too but nobody has done that so it takes infantry as of now.
edit. this is why Bush made the statement that there were areas the military were not aloud to go but as of now they have a "green light" to do their work.

And just where are those troops supposed to come from? Why would you not allow the Etheopians and Egyptians to handle that matter seeing that they already have the terrorists on the run? We are not alone in Iraq and we should not be the only ones in Somalia. Let them flush 'em so we can shoot 'em.

There simply is no figuring out Bush anymore. Last night was the most important speech of his presidency, and he blew it. It's hard to believe he spend months on that presentation.
The country was primed for a new direction, a new goal, and a new way to bring peace to Iraq. He disappointed everyone.
The people in the USA have resigned themselves to the fact that the "why" we invaded Iraq is no longer important. All Americans want to leave Iraq better than it was prior to invasion. The way to do that was not discussed.
He continued to harp on the notion that there is some kind of enemy in Iraq when most people don't accept that notion anymore. The only thing going on in Iraq is civil unrest. The same civil unrest that would break in any country when civil authority is removed.
Bush laid out no solid plan to restore civil authority in Iraq. He gave us no idea of what winning would entail.

The question we should be asking is WHY are they in Al-Anbar? Al Qaeda did not exist in Iraq until the US invasion. Hussein would not let them in, as they were considered a threat to his power. The ideologies were also completely opposed. Now they have a new home and a nice daily recruiting poster for all the Muslim world.

Because he's either a liar or an idiot, and/or surrounds himself with liars and idiots. Maybe if he wasn't so busy "liberating" Iraqi and Somali civilians from their lives he'd have to actually deal with legitimate threats to homeland security. Like Osama, who's probably holed up in a 5-star hotel somewhere with a seperate suite just for stockpiling the flood of cash since the Iraqi occupation began.

He talks about what he wants to talk about-not what actually needs to be talked about. He simply wanted to sell his plan of sending in troops, disregarding whether or not he makes sense. Not a shocker coming from Bush.
