i feel the same way. One of my friends is like, "we have to fight. support the troops," and it's not that I don't support the troops. I thin kit's horrible that they are losing their lives for some BS reason. That is what I don't support.
Most people who are siging up are still signing up for a chance, to go to college.

I don't know why a loser like yourself would pity some of the bravest, smartest human beings God ever made. Here's another 411 for ya, hippy--- Our troops know what they're doing when they sign on the dotted line. It's their job to go when, and where their Commander In Chief calls them to go. Political reasons? That's your way left wing nut opinion, and lots of brave soldiers have died so you could have it.

Your question leads me to believe you need validation of your feelings. You want to know that others out there feel the same way you do. Well rest assured many of us do. I myself have felt that way ever since the war in Iraq began, and at the time my feelings were not very popular. But I have never been one to keep my feelings/opinions to myself (probably why I love yahoo answers so much). The number of people who told me I was unpatriotic for not getting behind the war and supporting our troops baffled me. Isn't this America? Aren't we not only allowed to but are expected to voice our dissent when we sense that something is wrong? I say, go with your gut, or your heart, or wherever it is you believe your feelings originate, and don't let the haters sway you into thinking your position is wrong, or that you are less American for having these feelings.

that's kind of where I'm at right now. It's like "why can't everyone just get along". All these people are dying and I just don't see the cause. I know people in the Army and I support what they're doing, but sometimes I wonder what's the point of this war anyways. I mean is this an attempt to salvage what's left of Bush's reputation, because if it is I'm not for it at all. He did admit to being wrong in the first place, but what good does that do us now. I'm more worried about the thousands of people being separated from their families for a war that many people don't know the reason behind it. I just hope everything turns out like he plans because I wouldn't wish anything bad to happen to anyone.

How about being put in harms way for personal reasons.
Bush used to openly talk about Saddam trying to contract a hit on GHWBush. You might remember Dubya saying "He tried to kill my dad"
Granted Saddam was a despot. So was Pinochet. But fighting for Bush Family revenge is far from what the founders of this Nation had in mind for the Army.

Our troops don't need pity from a longhair. Would you do anything for your country if called upon to do so? No. Have you ever wondered why you have freedoms others do not? That's the difference between U.S. soldiers and long-winded hypocrites like yourself.

They are being put in harms way to win a war and make the world a safer place for all of us. This war has not been and is not now being fought on a political basis.
It is the politicians that oppose the war who are doing so for political gain. It is to no advantage from a political perspective to continue with the war, all of the political capital to be gained at this time is to be gained by pulling troops out of Iraq, not putting more in Iraq.
I think you have your thinking cap on backwards. Maybe you are just believing the main stream media. Try thinking more for your self. Use logic. The biased media has clouded your thinking.

You are dead center on the button. I watched a father on the news yesterday whose boy was being shipped off in 2 weeks time.
He, as an ex marine, was adamant that a political war, in which the President is keeping up the lie of making America safe, was not what a trained professional American soldier should die for.
I want to listen to people like that.. they have the experience and they are Patriots who KNOW what it is like to put your life on the line for your country.
Bush evaded his call up to Vietnam.

By signing up to defend your country, you stand a very good chance of being put in harm's way regardless! That's what the military is for, to protect its citizens. They don't want your pity.

Pity yourself for not understanding why the war is a necessary step in fighting global terrorism.
BTW - Do you think you would cut your long hair if we promised you would not be forced to serve in the military?
