Ok, so I've been e-mailing my close friend, and hadn't got a response. So, I figured it was the dumb servers hating on my e-mails, AGAIN. Today, I figured I'd see what they were doing over there, and I went and checked the website. There was a message saying that they all were ok, but that they took down outside communication temporarily. I know this is routine, so I am not worried, just curious when it MIGHT be back up.

My husband is currently going about getting a petition to take his daughters mother to court for visitation bc she has recently begun refusing to allow him to see or speak to his daughter, but is there any way we can have some government agency intervene in the meantime? Not only are we afraid that she is telling is daughter things (what if she doesn't want to go with him in the end?), she had luekemia and has no way of knowing how her health is. What can we do until we get to court?

30,000 children die every day because of povety.

To provide clean water, sanitation, education and medicine to all in poverty, it would cost $30 billion. The U.S. spends that on NASA over the course of two years.

I got a ticket for "failure to control speed so as to avoid collision" and when I went to court to fight it, the police officer didn't show up so they dismissed it without prejudice. They said that they can refile within a certain amount of time, but I don't know what that timespan is. I need more information on this ruling and the timespan. (I got the ticked in April).

At this very moment there a questions on YA using terminology such as "demoncrats" and "repubes". There is a question about whether or not liberals will be happy if Iran blows up Israel, and I have seen questions about whether or not conservatives will be happy when everyone in Iraq is dead.

What is wrong with us people?!?!? What has happened that so many of us can only hate? Do these people really believe they are patriotic? Do they really believe they are acting in the best interest of this nation (the USA) when they spout this ugly, hatefull divisiveness to the point that permanent barriers to reasoned discourse are being built?

I am not a pessimistic person by nature, but hear me out, we have a strength in this nation at this time that no foreign power, no terrorist organization can even hope to overcome. They may wound us but we will not be defeated from within. Only the coninuously festering cancer of divisiveness can defeat us. Why do so many help that cancer grow?

Some neo-cons are attempting to re-write history now that the truth is unavoidable and say they didn't.

Let's see what President Bush had to say about it in his letter to congress on 3/21/03, and I quote:

"The use of armed forces against Iraq is consistent with the United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations or person who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001."

That letter is public record and anyone can fact-check me at will and that is just one example. We all know how many times Kriston and Perle and Rumsfeld and Cheney came on TV implying a connection between Iraq and 9/11. At least those of us without selective memory do.

Any questions?

I have full custody over my son. My ex "sees" him everyother weekend. It took him 2 years to get a job and now that he has one he has made one child support payment. He now wants to sign over our son to my husband to be when we get married. We all agreed to this. My fiancee and I are scheduled to get married Jan. 29th of this year. I'm just curious as to what is going to happen next? What do I have to do to get this started? I dont know anything about adoption or signing a child over. I know I need to get a laywer and what not, I just want to know what to expect so I'm not shocked at anything. Any information you have would be much appreciated. If it helps I live in the state of Ohio.

I wrote a piece of literature and gave it to someone online for feedback. I gave it to her because she is also writer and doesn't know me personally (therefore she won't just "try to be nice".) She hasn't responded for weeks.
The literature is not published, however it IS copyrighted and registered with the Library of Congress. The person who has it knows that, but I'm still not sure. Am I just being paranoid? I just want to be prepared in case someone tries to steal my work.
