At this very moment there a questions on YA using terminology such as "demoncrats" and "repubes". There is a question about whether or not liberals will be happy if Iran blows up Israel, and I have seen questions about whether or not conservatives will be happy when everyone in Iraq is dead.

What is wrong with us people?!?!? What has happened that so many of us can only hate? Do these people really believe they are patriotic? Do they really believe they are acting in the best interest of this nation (the USA) when they spout this ugly, hatefull divisiveness to the point that permanent barriers to reasoned discourse are being built?

I am not a pessimistic person by nature, but hear me out, we have a strength in this nation at this time that no foreign power, no terrorist organization can even hope to overcome. They may wound us but we will not be defeated from within. Only the coninuously festering cancer of divisiveness can defeat us. Why do so many help that cancer grow?

It is so true. Our country is so hopelessly divided, I don't know if it can be fixed.

What do you expect after eleven years of a do nothing, rubber stamp congress and six years of complete control by the republicans? The "uniter" has divided this country and pushed it to extremes. People are angry and it comes out most the more extreme the person. If you think it's bad now, wait for another year with the Democrats having a majority in Congress.

We are a country divided. An extreme bipartisan government has lead to this division. People seem to thrive on insults and attacks instead of having an intelligent debate.

I've been on Y!A for a long time and it's getting progressively worse and time goes on.

It's just politics, and it is nothing new. Well, maybe less civil, but words never hurt anyone.

Actually, politics used to get people killed in duels.

We are no more divided than we ever were, we just have more drama queens.

Today, our true enemy is a Religion. 3% (they say) of the that religion is radical and wants anyone who is not one of them DEAD! The Libs cannot or DO NOT want to see it. That is where we have a problem. We will be destroyed from with-in.
