Actually, "survival of the fittest" was a commentary of the term natural selection. Intelligent Design is just a way of saying Biblical Creation without usig the word Bible or God. Belief in Intelligent Design as written is meaningless. It is the equivalent in saying, "I believe in a book about the Bible." Belief in evolution would be akin to belief in quantum physics. They are not obvious, but upon investigation pan out.

You sure can, Survival of the Fittest, Evolution and the Big Bang are all encompassed by Intelligent Design. Intelligent Design believes that the "design" of the universe was intentionally caused by a "designer". You could think of the designer as a programmer, and all of us are in a giant simulation. So, if you believe in Intelligent Design, you have to believe in everything else that really happened. There are other versions of Intelligent Design that are more adopted by religious groups, they use it more as an excuse to believe in creation myths. Intelligent Design is kinda useless though, it's like a Freudian theory. Even if it is real, it has no impact on what is going on, and doesn't predict anything, just tries to explain why we are here.

Yes, I believe you can. After all, it would make sense that a higher power designing the universe would want to have a few 'fail-safes' built in, or just want to set the universe loose and see what happens. Survival of the Fittest is a well thought out theory that has been proved in action. However, neither Intelligent design nor evolution has been scientifically proved. Survival of the Fittest is acceptable regarding either theory, it is only the two theories (intelligent design and evolution) themselves that war with each other.

Of course, America and capitalism are survival of the fittest and "In God We Trust", joined at the hip.

Well, I do believe in both. I dont believe God decides every natural outcome. I think there is some evolution too, its proven. I dont think we were evolved from fish, but certain features about species have changed over time to be naturally fitter.
