Like getting mentally sick people off the streets .
Like producing energy from renewable sources.
Like a nice place for the elderly with some medical staff close by .
Like a safe place for kids to go when they realize that there parents are total losers .
Like an education for all kids .
Like a place where criminals do not prey on the weak .
If you are rich you can have all this but for most people its a pipe dream . A struggle to find some peace in this world .
A place without injustice where hardworking honest people can enjoy life .
I do not want to become Amish but they seem to be the only people who care for one another and forgive the sins others without judgment .

She moved out without officially terminating the lease. I moved out recently. The court has ordered us to pay for "damages". She hired a lawyer who represents her but does not care about me so much. She demands that I pay full amount, even though I have been paying my portion of the rent religiously. It does not make sense! Her lawyer is not keeping me in the loop, and has no incentive to help me. Parallel to the court order to pay for the money "damages", the landlord has offered to settle, if I forget about my security deposit. What should I do?

My husband lost his birth certificate. He is from vietnam and was sponcered here when he was three. He had a birth certificate for when he entered in the army in 1994. but has been out for over over 7 years and the army purged his file, birth certificate(destoyed) . He is a US citizen with a Drivers license and ss #. Vietnam doen't have a copy at all. An INS can't help. Can anyone point us in the right direction

Most liberal parents (like most conservatives) spend most of their days thinking not about politics but about how to raise good kids. It's probably not worthwhile to try to figure out who is better at it but these statistics ought to at least pour cold water on conservative self righteousness on this point: of the 10 states with the highest divorce rates, ten of them voted for Bush. Of the 10 states with the lowest divorce rates, 9 of them voted for Kerry. And the state with the lowest divorce rate in the nation? Massachusetts.

Isn't it against the law to have women and men in the same jail cells? Has this ever happened to anyone before, if so what ( if anything) did you do about it?

I had a friend that was arrested and placed in the same cell with a guy, the police stated that because he had long hair they did not realize it was a guy. My friend said that the beard and mustache should have given it away, and that he was obviously a guy. Can she do anything about this?

Do you think societies like Iraq, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Fiji, Syria, Bahrain; Israel/Palestine; Sudan; Cyprus; .... would be better off with an electoral system that forces political parties to seek support from BOTH communities?

One way of doing this is (to use the example of Iraq) ito have Shias vote among the top 10 Shia parties (1st 25%), non-Shias to vote among the top 10 non-Shia political parties (2nd 25%); Shias to choose among the top three Non-Shia political parties (3rd 25%); and Non-Shias to vote among the top three Shia parties (final 25% of seats in parliament).

An similar alternative could mean that all votes gained from the lower of the two subtotals count double - this could be used in presidential elections.

Further alternatives can be created using a relegation from eligibility for the group that has the most negative votes from the other community.

The point of these systems is to make cooperation and being nice to each other more likely between the two.

yet, they fail to mention the fact that the most infamous conflict the U.S. was ever involved in-Vietnam-was initiated by John F. Kennedy and perpetuated by Lyndon Johnson, who both happened to be Democrats? Isn't it funny how liberals try to claim Gerald Ford lost the Vietnam conflict, but it was the Democrat controlled congress that ultimately cut the funding for the war, forcing us to pull out?

Oh, and please spare me the rhetoric about the Monroe Doctrine and fighting communists versus terrorists.

Isn't it also funny how the liberals keep bringing up the loss of 3000 troops when by this timeframe in Vietnam, the number of deaths was considerably higher?
