Because mis-quoting Gore gives them a warm fuzzy feeling, whereas quoting Bush does not.

So to make them feel better about that, I’ve compiled a short list of some things Bush said that actually ARE true:

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." 08-05-04

“You're free. And freedom is beautiful. And, uhh, you know, it'll take time to restore chaos, and order, but we -- but we will.” 04-13-03

“If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier... just so long as I'm the dictator.” 12-18-00

“This is an impressive crowd, the haves -- and the have mores. Some people call you the elite. I call you my base.” 10-19-00

“I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.” 09-29-00

And one of my personal favorites:

"You know, one of the hardest parts of my job is to connect Iraq to the war on terror."—Interview with CBS News, Washington D.C. 09-06-06
-well-documented, but can’t find an audio clip.
