It drew the US into the war.

Prior to that, very strong anti-war and isolationist forces in the US precluded US involvement. Due to this, it has been suggested that the FDR administration didn't do everything possible to stop the attack on Pearl Harbor and may have even been complicit through "errors of omission."

the attack on the united states is the accuse that FDR needed to enter the war. there is a conspericy that FDR knew that the japanese were planning an attack. the evdience of that is a trasnscript that was sent by the japanese to FDR. also the majority of america's battle ships were sent on a "training mission" and were not in pearl harbor when it was attacked. also the American survalence lost the the japanese fleets in a storm. the reason for this suscpision is that FDR wanted desperatly to enter the war but congress would not pass legaslature to let him do so.

It took the US into the war. As Adm. Yamamto feared it woke a sleeping giant.

There are those who think that FDR wanted a war and got one.
There is proof.
The British knew, as they were told by the Japs. They in turn told us. We didn't listen.
This was a big mistake. The US fleet was taken out.

The Japs didn't get the prime ships. The aircraft carriers, and they didn't take out the subs. These two types of ships proved to be the down fall the the Jap fleet.
