Cactus is where the Swift Beef packing plant is. Over 1200 illegals were taken on Tuesday and all of the other business owners in town are afraid they will go under because no one is there to buy their products.

Every time I come into the Military section of Y!A at least one person is ranting about instituting a draft. For the life of me--I cannot understand why someone would think this.

The US Government is currently downsizing the military by 40%. In the Air Force there is a "Blue to Green" program to promote the men who get discharged from the Air Force to join the Army. We have more recruits then ever for all branches and this is nothing like Vietnam--where people simply were not enlisting.

I just cannot for the life of me understand why someone would think we're going to start a draft. Any opinions or answers would be greatly appreciated!

Before you start blasting.... Why can't the US / America win when it comes to the world opinions about us. I'm in the US Army and currently deployed to Afghanistan. I read the questions/political statement in here and international news. If the US doesn't intervin, we are wrong. Once we do intervin we are war mongers. It makes me wish American would have just minded it's own business the last 100 or so years. Europe / Russia / Africa / Asia and most of the rest of the world would be speaking German or Japanese now. Which countries that currently bad mouth the US would even be countries? If the US pulled all of it's troops out of the 116 countries where they currently are (wow big number, but accurate), for about 10 years or so, would the world be a better place?

Okay....say in Fantasy City.....you had in it 2 powerful gangs....disregarding originality we'll say crips and bloods. In the past they've fueded relentlessy over who's gonna control the streets...and for a moment the crips had a hold over the bloods to the point the bloods were almost slaves to them. Well needing help, a police force well known from another city came in to help calm down the chaos in this city with seriously high crime rates. What turned out was the bloods being givin some freedom to roam the streets again. But out of vindictive hatred decided to wreak havoc on the crips. Of course, the crips, not letting this happen, retaliate. So now there is a HUGE gang war in this city. As the police force what would you do? (i'm pretty sure you can hint where i'm getting at....but maybe the different perspective may give some incite i suppose...so here goes :-). ).

People in the Middle East don't hate the US, neither do they hate the American people. They hate the American foreign policies, particularily those concerning them. They firmly believe it is hypocrate, double standard and no good comes out of it. As a matter of fact, I, myself, find that to be true. I am here talking about normal people in the Middle east; those you run into in the street, or chat to in a caffe, not fanatics (who, by they, exist in each and every society, including the US herself). Could someone give me a convencing answer, for God sake. I am so damn confused...

Can walmart or police charge you for shoplifting if you didn't get caught with the item on you at all going out of the store? I mean what if they have you on camera going into the bathroom and coming out with nothing and go back and find an empty box. Can they charge you next time you enter walmart?

Without layers and layers of bloated bureaucracies and rampant corruption , the world would be a safe and productive place, unfortunately Democracy can't establish this dream since it relies on (flawed) humans for its base, thats why we need to create a being who's has no personal ambition and who's only reason for living is for the efficient existence and safety of the human race, and make it supreme ruler of the earth.
what do you think?
