Possession of:
Less than 1 oz is a misdemeanor carrying no incarceration period and fines of $500 to $1,000.

1 oz to 110 g is a class B felony carrying up to a 10 year sentance and a fine of up to $100,000.

More than 110 g is a felony and prison time and fines vary depending on past criminal record.

I don't know state to state, but most states there is no minimum. You either have it or you don't. So really it depends on the mood of the grunt harassing you. If the pig just got done beating a inncoent man, he is feelin' good and might let a bowlpack slide. More than likely though, any amount is grounds for arrest.

Now if a dude is walking down the street, and the pig decides to just stop him and search him, that is extremely illegal in itself and anything found would be dismissed at court. even if he had a pound.

I agree, the search must be legit. The officer had to have a reason to search (which isn't always hard as simply looking for someone who looks like you gives them descretion to detain and search you for their own safety).

ANY amount can justify an offense but sometimes there is so little content (like a roach or baggie with small amounts) that fail to withstand testing. In those cases charges probably wouldn't occur.

lets put it this way the two answer you got are stupid. a police officer has to have reasonable suspicion to stop you. but any officer can articulate that. and he can arrest you for any thing from a seed as long as you have any part of the plant then thats possession
