No, you will not lose your indian passport/citizenship if you get (or you are) a canadian permanent resident(ship). You are still considered an indian national legally living in canada.
Once you get your canadian citizenship, then that time on you will lose your indian passport/citizenship since you will be considered canadian citizen. (not unless canada or india allows dual citizenship, check the web).
I hope that helps.

I doubt it, if I can't be a resident of two States in the United States. I don't see why you should be allowed to be a resident of two Country's!! Of course sensible reasoning isn't something I see demonstrated much. As an American I can only hope!!
I'm sorry! I thought you were referring to the United States. Not India! Plus you are only referring to "passport" Why would you lose your passport? As long as it is still good. If you are required to have it renewed then you will have to do that at that time, right. You might have to contact the Indian Embassy in Canada.
I read your question wrong. Sorry about that.

McAvoy is right. Canadian residency will not affect your Indian citizenship; you must always be a citizen of some country. However, India does not recognize dual citizenship. That means that even if you become a Canadian citizen, when you are in India they will still consider you only an Indian citizen.

I would hope so. Your allegiance should only be to one country.
