He said that war is too important to be left to the generals. When he said that, 50 years ago, that may have been true. But now, war is too important to be left to the politicians. They have neither the time, the training, nor the inclination toward strategic thought."

The fact that foreign leaders express themselves better in English than our guy does burn me up a little sometimes.

And people ask why some hate Bush? He's an embarrassment!

I consistently see liberals on here saying that sites such moveon.org are not propaganda, but non-liberals say it is. I also consistently see neo-conservatives arguing that sites such as therealamericantruth.com are not propaganda. They are both clearly one-sided. On a less extreme scale you have CNN and FoxNews on opposite sides, and I see both attacked as propaganda and defended as news.

Why does it seem that information is propaganda only if it disagrees with your beliefs?

The reason I ask is because of the recent law passed in New York city. This is where all restaurants are now banned from using trans fat in their food. The stuff that makes fries, pies and and burgers taste delicious. It seems to me that the government feels that people are too dumb to make up their minds on what to do. People know the harmful effects of things like fatty foods and smoking, let us decide for ourselves if we want to indulge. It is only harming ourselves not others. This seems like a very slippery slope. What is next fast food, roller coasters, and contact sports?

Why do we have people who are clearly les than experts in charge of very important departments? Do not try to tell me that this is a D or R issue as this happens with both parties:

Here is the latest example:

i consider myself libertarianm, but i want to ask conservatives to provide some alternative to socialized healthcare. if theres a guy who works more than 40hrs a week and just cant afford something, then what should he do? and i dont want these pardons or excuses that "no party has been able to solve it" or blah blah. there are people who have possible solutions, i hope.
