Would the police accept an application from you if you have realy poor credit, ccj's arrears etc....

Yes you would be allowed to join ! the only main thing`s to stop you joining the police would be if you or any direct member of your family has a police record ( there is no grace period to the police force so even if you did a criminal thing when you where younger it will still count )
As regards to the metropolitan police force , if you had / have a criminal record you would get into it !
I know of a case where a person was refused entry at his local force because he had just came out of prison for assault on his wife , But was allowed to apply & got into the met ! 2 years later he got transferred to the force he originally applied to !

Quite possibly. A small department would be more likely to accept this than a metropolitan force.

I would not think so, as a Police Officer must be seen as a pillar of good conduct. However if the convictions are 'Civil' and not 'Criminal' then you may be in with a slim chance.
The only thing is you may not pass on psych' profile.

Depends on how bad. Some places will and some will not. There is no way to say that they all will or all will not.
