I consistently see liberals on here saying that sites such moveon.org are not propaganda, but non-liberals say it is. I also consistently see neo-conservatives arguing that sites such as therealamericantruth.com are not propaganda. They are both clearly one-sided. On a less extreme scale you have CNN and FoxNews on opposite sides, and I see both attacked as propaganda and defended as news.

Why does it seem that information is propaganda only if it disagrees with your beliefs?

Propaganda is lies to make you think one thing when the truth is something else. Its not just a difference of opinion, or a slanted truth-telling, its done to make you follow a certain party, or originally a religion.
The way you determine what is propaganda is to examine many news sources and compare several apparently unrealted happenings.
For instance, the war is going well....but we are still there and the deaths on all sides are increasing, and newspeople are and have been for some time afraid to leave their compounds. Not the signs of a war winding down, or going well no matter how much you might want to believe that.. So you can draw your own educated conclusions, but the odds are, the stay-the-course administration telling you that its all good, are fudging the facts a bit. You can open schools, but if kids get killed on the way there thats not much of a win.
Labeling one a liberal or a conservative is a handy way to avoid all that thinking and blame one side or the other for propagandizing the war.

Moveon.org tried to get Ned Lamont elected, look what happened
there.

Also, they claim to have 3.5 million members in the state of CT.
which is where I live. That would be the entire population of the
state. And we know from the election that that isn't true.

Thank you very much, while you're up!!

Personally, I try to avoid making my entire argument around one source. As for the above, I don't watch CNN, never have. I don't go to moveon.org, never will.

Propaganda is not a difference of opinion.

Propaganda is lies.

Like "We're fighting for Democracy in Iraq."

If you agree with me, you are stating facts. If you disagree with me, it is propaganda. Simple, isn't it? :)
