if some drunken guy comes to my house at 3:00 in the morning and started pounding on my front door for half an hour demanding to be let in and we called the police, are they allowed to say "sorry were too busy to come to your house, well send someone if anyone ever becomes avalible". like, what if the guy broke down the door and had a gun? what if the guy rolled onto the ground and DIED? what if he broke into someone elses house? could you sue the police?

It is really not that hard to get along. I have friends and family who are Democrats. We may disagree on some things but at least we always have something to talk about. Why do people hate each other because of their beliefs on things? It is getting really old.

I'm engaged to my boyfriend [now a fiance] and he lives in England. Don't ask. But anyway, when we got married I said I would live over in England because in my opinion, the U.S. isn't doing terribly well now are we? So, when I marry him, am I a UK citizen automatically or is there more to it?

Who can help...

Last time I got a speeding ticket I had to take an enormously boring 16 hour online course to remove the ticket, and then had to pay for it. I just recently received another ticket and want to somehow avoid this class again. I dont mind paying the ticket, obviously I made the mistake of speeding but because I'm under 24 or 25 I believe the state law is I have to take this course again. Anyone know any loopholes in regards to this policy? Can't I just get a lawyer to fight it off with deferred adjudication

I live in an apartment complex and I have been here for 10 years sorry to say that but it is true. ( Meaning that I wish that I did own my own home) But that is not the case so. I live down stairs and about 2 months ago this silly looking girl moved upstairs above me with her two kids, they are so very loud. I didn't say anything to the landlord at first because, I said to myself they are just getting settled in but now they have been here a good while and all you can hear is bump bump bump all the time, plus loud music that I care not to hear at all. This BiTgh does not work and will not be quiet at night so that I can get my rest to go to work the next day. I'm sure she is playing the system to pay rent for her plus food stamps and who knows what else. She is as about as low as you can go. What will the police do about noise like that if I complain to them, my landlord just said let them settle in. She does not care as long as she has all of the Apartment filled she doesn't care.HELP

So many things have been said here and there. Some are PRO-legal immigration, some are ANTI-immigration, some are just PRO-anything-that-comes and so on... I just want to understand one thing: WHY DO NATIONALS HATE IMMIGRANTS? Is there a real reason? I mean, a sociological or psycological reason (no freaks, MinuteMan or Human Rights, please) to this, sometimes, out-of-control hate, allowing people to justify violence and disrespect against other people with the only excuse of their origin, as if ALL American countries were developed from immigrants. To the "semi-KKK" people who love to comment in these questions with answers like "go back to your country", I'd like to say I AM IN MY COUNTRY, I am studying Geography and Immigration Issues and I'd like to remember the Pilgrims were also immigrants... so... you should also go back to "Caucasia", don't you think?

Those with real information (even links) can email me. Thank you!

Congress could be a hot bed of feminists!

When you go to the polls to vote, cast your vote for the candidates you support.
For the elected offices and candidates that you are less certain about, favor the female candidates.
Rethink the criteria you consider when casting your vote.
Balancing the amount of power and knowledge and resources in the world in a fair way is a necessary goal. The world is far from being as fair as it can be. Seriously harmful imbalances between different groups of people still exist. Some voices are not being heard. Human potential, undefined.
The most glaring disparity is that between the governing power and authority men wield in the world – and the governing power and authority women wield.
Fortunately, most countries today are democratic and an increasing percentage of those who get elected to public office are women. Yet we still find that men dominate elected offices– even in the United States, which claims to stand on a foundation of equality, (US Congressional representation by women hovers near 15%)

It is critically important to ensure that social progress keeps pace with the technological progress we are witnessing.  Equalizing the percentages of men and women in elected offices will help to resolve all of our most pressing issues.

Answer the following question: How can a room full of legislators that are 85% male resolve an issue like abortion? I consider it fact that such a resolution cannot be possible until the percentage of males and females in such a room equals the percentage of males and females that it takes to create such an issue.

I believe that you will find the same is true for every social issue we face, and we face many.

Make the world a fairer place.

Resolve abortion, gridlock, disease, hunger, hate crimes, homelessness, war.

Accept democracy in practice, not in theory alone.

During the United States Civil war many Irish were immigrating to the U.S. when they landed they were given a hot meal and their citizenship papers the men were also given another paper making them privates in the Army and were sent right away to fight for their new country.
Now don't you think the feces would impact with the rotating oscilator if that was tried with the Mexicans? As primarlly whites are in control of the government we would be accused of total racism. even though it was done to whites. The Scots and Irish immigrants had it far worse the the Mexicans, and they came in as indentured servants
or with their own money and following the rules for entry.
