The populous states are largely that way because they are coastal cities with major shipping ports, and further migration away from the cities is often an expensive burden, at least it was for a long time. Non of which grants these states an inherent right to becoming a bloc to supplant less populated states. The only way to compete with states that are more populous is to become equally populated, which is impractical, if not impossible, especially since the major industries of such states may not be comparable to those in the coastal states, which means less economic incentive to move to some of the smaller states. Why is diminishing the voice of smaller states so the densely populated coastal states can have their interest put above the more rural farm staes, et al, considered more ethical than the current system?

Why don't popular votes care about the logical negative consequences? Smaller states can't compete without the EC, can they?

my brother is taking his ex-wife to court to get full custody of their daughter. my brother and i don't get along but i get along with his ex and baby-sit my niece quite often. due to the things i've heard and seen throughout the last few years she asked me to tesitfy in court. i said no so she had me subpoenaed. i am 5 months pregnant and having problems with the pregnancy. i've been off an on bed rest since 2 months. is there any medical way to get out of testifying to keep the stress on me reduced so that hopefully i can carry this baby to term and not have any more medical problems while doing so?

I am considering moving to the Netherlands for at least six months out of the year and I'm considering dual citizenship, but will I have to pay income tax in both countries or just one? That would be horrible if I was taxed twice!

A small percentage, (like 10%) of the population wanted to wage war with each other, and every time your police would arrest one of these people, the judge would let the these people go, because he feared for his life and family, and the police stopped arresting these people, for the same reason, what would you do?

Me, I would bring in the army, and just shoot on sight, of anyone trying to wage war with another like so.

I have to write this paper SUPPORTING Christianity and how we should be able to practice it. THe government has taken away the display of the Ten commandments, etc. and I have to argue how the first amendment should protect us and let us display our beliefs.

1. Reinterpret the 14th Amendment to not allow babies of illegal immigrants to have rights under the constitution (anchor babies).

2. Form government organizations to find employers of illegal immigrants and impose strict heavy fines for them.

3. Increase border security and authorize the border patrol to use force if necessary to restrain the illegal immigrants.

4. Allow local police to break up protest groups of illegal immigrants demanding amnesty since they have no rights of petition.

5. Scold and possibly sanction the Mexican government into submission for them to stop being so selfish and to provide more for its impoverished people.

Wouldn't that help?
