No. In fact Americans are less free than Canadians. For example I can't be tested for Marijuana use to get a job unless its a crucial job like pilot. Also, the four freedoms of man as outlined in the United Nation's "Universal Declaration of Human Rights" include the freedoms from want and fear. Again Canadians are more free than Americans because we live with less fear and want for a lot less like medical care. Please read the Universal Declaration at the website below. President Roosevelt outlined these freedoms to Congress in a state of the union address. President Eisenhower warned Americans, in his final speech as president, against the Military/Industrial complex from taking over too much power. ie; Halliburton?

Absolutely NOT! And especially so when you have people making ignorant and narrow-minded comments like the one made by "birdsnake" in his/her response to your question. It is unfortunate that today's American Ideal is a slave of extremism, brainwashing, Imperialism, materialism, "Bushism" and of stupidity to the nth degree!

the system of government we have today is not the system devised by T. Jefferson, G. Mason or J. Adams when drafting the Constitution.
You are as free as you want based on your worth in dollars and sense.
