Trouble is that the swastika -- known as fylfot -- was an ancient Buddhist symbol. So it's impossible to get it out of all the museums, and all the Buddhist temples!
As for that jerk who compared the swastika to the Jewish star: the Nazis killed lots of Jews, but their main aim was to kill all intellectuals, all smart people. The swastika stood for dictatorship. The Nazis called themselves "socialists" but of course they were the opposite: fascists.
Funnily enough, the reason the USA leads in Nobel prizes now is because all the best German scientists and professors -- and many Jews too -- fled to America.
So: this jerk is just another Nazi, who would like to impoverish America.

How can you claim that you are against censorship, but then go on to suggest banning something ?
It's a bit like saying that you are a vegetarian who only eats pork.
As others have pointed out the symbol you so detest is actually a religious icon which is sacred in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Odinism.
Are you proposing to ban those religions too ?
The problem is those who have hijacked it for their own ends.
If terrorists waved the US flag after every atrocity would you be advocating baning the Stars & Stripes ? No, I didn't think so either.

I would first need to know where "here" was... the US. Canada, Australia?... I can only guess because you have posted on an international site. Yet, I will state that I think that the use of the Swastika should be prohibited. It brings on strong political feelings. Furthermore, in a politically correct world though if one is going to restrict the use of one such symbol, however universally known, one must be ready to deny any and all symbols that may create a similar reaction.

It's a universal symbol used by the Hindus, Native Americans, and Celts, among others. It's unfortunate that the Nazis used it so prominently, to the point that it's easier to associate the swastika with Hitler and his ilk, but I think eradicating it would also mean locking up lots of artifacts and books that don't purport the twisted ideals of the Third Reich.

Well, you can't really be against censorship if you want to be able to forbid showing a symbol (which is thousands of years old) just because one group you don't like happened to use that symbol.
Either people can express themselves regardless of whether we like what they're saying, or we get to shut them up if we don't like them. It's pretty much a bright line rule. Either there is free speech, or there is not.
That being said, remember that Yahoo is a private forum, and not subject to constitutional protections relating to free speech. Yahoo can limit whatever they want, by their terms of service, as a matter of contract.

Every time I see it displayed I get upset, I had a terrible childhood because of this symbol, my reality were basements, bombs and no food. How can our Government allow this symbol to be displayed
when so many American Soldiers gave their life's to eradicate it.

Absolutely not.
Anyone who displays such a disrespectful and hate filled symbol of a demented ideology speaks volumes to me - and I kind of like the idea of knowing who they are.

Freedom of speech. When you say you can't have that, then how long does it take before they censor everything else. Oh, wait, this is Yahoo Answers, they censor everything anyways, usually without a good reason.
