In our post 911 world the borders of our country need to be controlled.
Tax Evasion, they don't put any money into the tax system, they just take. Many of them take the money they make and send it out of the country, so the money doesn't go back into the economy.
Who knows what diseases they are bringing with them.
They bog down our schools with their children without paying taxes.
They are breaking the law by being here illegally, do you think they care about any other laws that we have?
They are taking jobs from us and our children. Don't listent to others that say they are taking jobs that americans don't want. If that were true they would be working at McDonalds for 5 bucks an hour.
They will band together and force their own agenda.
No country in history has ever survived in tact from an invasion the size as the one we have now. Yes it's an invasion, it's closer to a migratioin like birds and animals do than it is an immigration.
Never before has the question of an "Official Language" been asked in this country. WHy is it an issue now? Because there are so many mexicans here and most of them can't or don't want to learn english.
Say what you want but if these mexicans don't want to be Taxable US citizens. If they did they would be lining up at the Immigration office instead of marching in the streets waving the MEXICAN FLAG in our face!
They are making a mockery of our government and our good will as a people.
There are those illegals that feel strongly that the USA pushed them out of THEIR country!
Would you think better of people that stood up and fought for their rights, or those who pack up and leave when things get bad? The Mexican government squanders the mexican peoples money and is as corrupt as the day is long. Why don't they fight for change in their homeland rather than come here and send back money!
Do you realize that there are an estimated 20 million illegal Mexicans in this country? 20 MILLION !!
This invasion MUST BE STOPPED! If you care about your children and their future in this country.
Think very hard before you join others that support illegal immigration and want to give these people a free pass in this country.
You will pay dearly for it later.

Ruined schools and degraded services.
The reason there are limits on immigration of poor people is that they will never make enough money to pay enough taxes to cover the costs of education for their children not to mention other services poor people use. Unlike the countries illegals come from, we subsidize these services for our people. Stretching them across an additional 12 to 20 million poor people illegally here is ruining our schools and is closing emergency rooms and hospitals in areas where illegals concentrate. Also, the areas where illegals concentrate are becoming much more numerous and the sheer numbers are diluting our own culture.
Granted that our culture is a shifting one based on assimilation (both ways) with many cultures, it is becoming not a patchwork slowly and comfortably changing, but a situation where monolithic blocks of a single foreign culture will overwhelm the native culture in certain areas. This raises social tensions over the entire issue, and adds to anger.

I would add: Spending 4.5% of GDP on NATO while the rest of the members spend only 2.5%. The NATO members are all, with the possible exception of England, considering cutting back to an even lower number. The US role as international policeman, as well as NATO, is now obsolete. We are alone. While we are in 300 countries with about 700 bases, we are twisting in the wind by oursleves. Democracy is being rejected world wide. We can not fight them all by ourselves. If we don't isolate and protect ourselves there by getting our so-called allies to participate at a higher level, we will be in much greater trouble than what we could ever realize over illegal immigration. Getting it done solves most of your list. Close the borders - illegal immigration Build SDI, fortress America- Iran's nuclear ambition negated. Bring home all US troops from everywhere - Total exit Re-invest military spending in alternative fuels and Health Care. Been done already in Brazil and Costa Rica Covers B and F. Raise taxes on companies doing business overseas. G With no troops in Arab or Theocratic countries, Al-Queda will not meet it's recruiting goals.

The biggest problem is politics. Our president, for what ever reason, is acting like illegals are some kind of threat to our country. What threat? They come here and work jobs that most of us will not do. And people who work, spend money, and THAT makes jobs for everyone else.
Really! A barrier across several states to SEPARATE the US from Mexico. Didn't they do that years ago in Germany?
What we should do is try to figure out why Mexico is not enjoying the income and wealth that is enjoyed in the US and Canada. My GUESS would be because no one who is not born (as I am told) in Mexico, cannot buy land in Mexico. THAT would really hold back the developers and people wanting to build houses in Mexico.

Violation of the laws allowing the nation to defend its borders.
Supression of the wage scale, driving prevailing wages down (as illegals will take jobs at lower wages that "Americans won't do").
Evasion of taxation by both employers and illegal alien employees, forcing a greater tax burden on the rest of the economy, while those illegals still use emergency services that cost the taxpayers of the nation.

If you are reallty interested you could go to your browser and type in "illegal immigration" and see what pops up. Otherwise here is a pretty informative link.

Spend a 1/2 hour or so following all of the links, read the articles, then decide for yourself

if its easy for someone to jump either the mexican or canadian border (or even by water) then a terrorist can do it, and yes, they have caught terrorist coming in through the borders. You think La Raza are a bunch of college stoners with che guevara shirts? No way, they are involved with orginized crime from mexican mafia to MS13. Even the Canadians have their radical socialist/Nationalist nut jobs coming in.
I don't care, I await for the next civil war

Potential threat of terrorist entering through either border carrying WMD is a real possibility that requires our attention. If we fail, the consequences could be another 9/11. Workers is of limited concern. They provide services, indirectly cost us. I do believe the pros and cons with them is a wash.

Enforcement of our laws, that is the biggest problem we have. If they just would enforce the laws we have right not, we would not have the illegal immigration problem.

The "sinking Life Boat" syndrome. Everything has a threshold and this nation has one too. Try to save too many people and we all perish.
