Is there any way to find out in advance if your county or voting district will be using Electronic Voting Machines, such as Diebold's?

This is if a person would prefer to send an absentee ballot over using the machines, and needs to know in advance to apply for one.

I would assume there is some sort of standard....ie a scientific tests of some sort to establish credibilty and reliablity....of both the dog, the handler and the trainer....but is that really an exact science?...wouldn't that allow for a great margin of error?

I have seen dogs go both ways.....do poorly on a case....and ones that have "found" the intended target..or whatever the situation may be. I am not talking about drug sniffing dogs.

Two cases I am thinking of are the Jessica Lunsford(sp) case in FLA...where the dog didnt locate her body in the shallow grave.....and the Scott Peterson case...where the dog handler was allowed to testify( he(the dog..lol) sniffed at the end of the dock...denoting that she was in the water).

Should dogs be allowed to be used(sniffing) in criminal cases? Not as a tool or method for law enforcement but should they be able to "testify" in court....and of course I don't mean the dog but the handler re: testimony?

I know you have to live in Canada for a minimum time to receive their free health care. But the idea is you are paying taxes into the system and you get free healthcare in return. But if you are retired and not working, then does it still work the same way? Since you aren't and have never paid Canadian tax, do you still get the free healthcare?

I can't find out for sure if Missouri uses electronic voting machines in it's elections. If yes, is it everywhere or just some counties? If no, did they use them previously?

Working on the hypothetical premise it was thechnacly possible.I hear a lot of people here in Europe and American friends online, and posts on this board say the same thing.
We don't vote, politicians just want to be elected, then they do whatever they want. They feel excluded form the political process
I think we,people with an interest in politics, can all agree the more participation the better regardless where we stand on the issues.
I see upsides and downsides to direct democracy, what are your thoughts?Any other idea's to get more people untested in politics are also appreciated.

And perhaps, then, we as Americans would demand ultimate accountability. For if lying under oath about a sexual dalliance with a Botero-esque intern is an impeachable offense, so certainly would be administration complicity in the effort to (as one Enron trader put it so coarsely) "jam Grandma Millie…right up her a**hole for fu**ing $250 a megawatt hour." When Congess forces Dick to open up the energy meeting minutes, what shall we find?
But why limit ourselves to misdemeanors when the administration's high crimes are hiding in plain sight:

-Lies and Manipulation of Intelligence to start a war.
-Torture against military and intl. laws.
-Unauthorized wire taps on American citizens
-Treasonous outing of CIA operatives for revenge.
-and on and on...

The articles of impeachment write themselves.
