Six years ago we could pay a monthly HMO payment and get drugs for $10. each, doctors visit $10., and specialists $20. 100% hospital covered. Is this the government form of euthanasia?

Freddy mo-
Part B medicare $115.
Supplimental to pay for the 20% not paid $125.
Part D drug $25.
Plus the price of drugs $5.,$30. or 60.
drugs out of pocket cost $3600. a year
Than 5% of cost
Since more elderly are the ones that need the extra drugs.
That comes to $565. a month, or $6780. a year. How many elderly middle class do you know that can afford that. Since the drug companies are reaping billions under the Bush leadership, elderly can either pay up or die.

As I said, before Bush was in office we could get drugs at $10. a month under an HMO. Now the price of everything has gone through the roof.

Looks like you all agree, euthanasia is the way to go.

I don't know, but welcome to the world of rising health care costs. If the elderly stopped taking prescription drugs like candy and took some responsibility (in some cases), that may also help to keep the costs lower. Everyone has to die sometime, so why spend countless 100's of billions of dollars for people to extend their existence for a weeks/months at any cost? People are so selfish. Let's ponder that for a bit.

Maybe your parents should have thought about the implications of having so many kids!!!

No but seriously, at what point does it stop being someone else's responsibility? Yes, drug cos and hospitals suck and charge too much. As do insurance companies. But why do you consider it the governments job to fix it?

prior to this year, there was no medicare coverage of prescription drugs at all. Medicare Part D is saving and improving lives, not worsening them. give me a break.

I don't get some people here. Rather than make concise, effective arguements, you just use rhetoric and regurgitate inflammatory propoganda.

look at it this way before this there was no coverage at all and they had to buy all the meds out of pocket instead of the dounut hole at the end of the year hopefully they can live long enough to get coverage again
