I know you have to live in Canada for a minimum time to receive their free health care. But the idea is you are paying taxes into the system and you get free healthcare in return. But if you are retired and not working, then does it still work the same way? Since you aren't and have never paid Canadian tax, do you still get the free healthcare?

Thank you to the one person who actually answered my question at all.

to the rest:
Am I supposed to believe all of your thoughts about Canada? None of you are even smart enough to comprehend a simple question and some background info. I ask a question, provide some background info to help norrow what I am trying to figure out, and I get all you ranting about Canada. I happen to be 24 and so far from retirement I'm not even considering it. I just wanted to know this answer becuase I'm curious. And a bunch of idiots decided to give me no more useful information then how Canada sucks and their hospitals suck. So thank you. thanks for acting like a bunch of rubes.

It's very simple. Everything is FREE!!
Only one problem, if you get cancer, you usually die waiting in line to get treatment.

In the US we have Medicare for people over 65 and It works better than what Canada has.

Say you need a new hip(Hip joint is bad and it hurts to walk). In Canada you go and see a doctor then he must send you to another doctor each time there is a long wait just to get in and then a day long wait in the office. The Doc thinks you need a hip replacement so you are put on a list a very long list. In 3 to 4 years yes years you will get it done. This is why Canadians come to the US to have a operation.

In the US you go to the Otho Doc first he sees you need a new hip you are in the OR the next week and back out walking in no time.

What happens to a old person that can not move around. They get sick and die. Think about it.

You would have to be a Canadian Citizen. That means immigration & meeting the requirements of that process. As a retiree if you had existing health issues that would make the prosess more difficult.

It's simple: After you've pledged your allegiance to a socialist government, and given up your right to own a firearm to defend yourself and your family, you are entitled to sub-standard health care - which you will certainly need because you were not allowed to shoot the thug who broke into your house at 2:30 am and beat you to an unrecognizable pulp.

OK my ANTI-ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS FOLLOWERS let’s save our welfare, our food stamps, WIC and all the free cheese. Let’s keep up the fight against all immigrants, let’s keep all illegals from our trailer parks. Let’s fight for what is ours. If we do not stick together we are going to be forced to GET A JOB. Lets avoid that. We are white, we are white, we are white and we speak English.
