Sorry Holly, Liberalism is a failed ideology. It has been tried in Europe for the past 50 years and has failed. Most Western European counties are economically stagnant, except for the ones that are in the process of or have reversed their socialized systems.
Their economies have only stayed stable as long as they have because they have NOT had to spend a dime on defense for the last 50 years. The US has protected them. If the US dissolved NATO, and Europe actually had to defend itself. Every European county would go into a deep recession.

if liberalism is a failed ideology due to the hypocrisy of some of it's leaders... by that same standard... then conservative thought is beyond a failure? it would have to be a catastrophe... a meltdown..
you have a party that ran with a focus on morals... and the examples are too numerous for me to even start to list of the blatant hypocrisy on that one issue alone...

Liberalism has not been proven to be a failure; it hasn't had the chance. And if you want to talk about hypocrisy, why not bring up real leaders (not celebrities), like good ole GW? Nice nickname, btw. It really adds to your credibility.
The Mayor: Have you even been to Western Europe? I have. There's nothing stagnant about the economies in the countries I've been in. And citing a lack of investment in self-defense as a possible cause for any of them not to be in a recession is outright stupid.

It is a failed ideology? I don't think that is true. If you think it is true, prove it. Do you collect any benefit whatsoever from the government (schools, college, police/fire protection, a pension of any kind). If so, then you owe this to a kind of liberal ideology.
I am a Libertarian myself. I think the government should only be in the business of protecting from outside attackers (military), police and fire protection. Period. They should have no say in marriage, or what I do to myself, or in the business of social welfare.

Because this is a captitalistic society. Liberalism is for people who don't like rules and morals and don't like to work.
Why else would the Democrats put up all of those moderates to take back congress? B/c the country is sick of this far-left liberal BS.

because liberalism is only good in theory, it doesn't work in practice. That's one reason a lot of professors are liberal. They spend their lives in the theoretical world, not the "real" world.

It is failed because it seeks to be average. It seeks to maintain, it seeks to reach a status quo and not go beyond. It desires to take wealth from those who have achieved, and redistribute it to those who are unwilling to work for it.

It only fails today, when political Islam is getting stronger. Today we need to stick to our conservative values to destroy the enemy.
Tomorrow, however, when there is no threat, Liberalism may rise again, and, maybe, rightfully so.
