Usually in south asia, we have so many political parties unlike in America or UK where as i see in the news itz only 3 (Rep, Dem & Ind) in the meantime whatz the role of Senate & House of representatives? In Asia we have parliament and those who are elected as member of parliament is awarded with ministries but how this is handled in US? Is it senators or house of representatives chosen as Ministers? And finally is congress is something similar to the parliament or what?

Thanks for everyone who answer this.

Has anyone gone through an adoption hearing for their own child?
My husband's mother of his child and her husband are trying to adopt the child. My husband keeps in touch with her by phone and visits every once in a while ( we live in NJ and she in Colorado) and sends her gifts but they led the child to believe that her stepfather is the real father. There will be a trial for this, if my husband shows upa nd is fighting to not give her up for adoption can he lose, I mean doesn't he have to agree to it.
Just a side note, my husband has a clean record and has no problems that they could bring up like alcohol or drug, etc. He has 2 children with me and a mental health professional has even evaluated him and said he was fit (the court required both parents to do an evaluation or parenting class). The only thing they could use against him is that he hadn't visited in two years, he called and sent gifts but he was financially unable to travel (it costs over $1200 for flight, hotel ,car)

CNN is reporting that Rummy is resigning. Now, correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Bush say less than a week ago that Rumsfeld was staying on to the bitter end?

If so, this would be a definite flip-flop.

So, why do Republicans and conservatives mercilessly attack Dems such as Kerry for flip-flopping when the president has just done the exact same thing?

Just because more Americans haven't been killed in a terrorist attack since 9/11 doesn't mean Bush has done ANYTHING to stop it from happening again. Killing innocent civilians in Iraq will only create more, and from a country that none of the 9/11 hijackers came from! Wow, more enemies! Republicans don't discourage terrorism, our troops do, and Bush doesn't fund 'em! Now, we can grab Osama!

What will this mean for the service men & women in Iraq and Afghanistan? Do you think it will mean an early end to the occupation and a free-for-all for the civil war in Iraq?

If the vice president doesn't shoot anyone on his hunting trip, do you think his wife is packing too?? They might leave the White house all at once.
When the entire U.S. tells them to go, at least they they listen.

I heard Laura is looking for a teaching job some where. That will teach her to talk behind Hilliary's back.

I mean its natural to be happy when your party wins. yes the dems got the majority in the house, but its not enough to get laws and such passed.... they are going to have the same problems that the republicans had with not getting enough votes and they're gonna start complaining about grid lock but its gonna all fall on deaf ears bc no one listened when republicans said the same thing.

First of all, a baby is not part of its mother's body. It is an individual human being, with its own separate body. To be sure, the mother is "feeding" the inborn baby, but does a mother have the right to stop feeding her baby after it is born? This would be murder by starvation, and to cut off the source of life for a preborn baby is also a morally culpable act.

You might be able to run campaigns based on "Bush is bad for this country" and "we need a change", but you can't govern on those beliefs. Now that it appears they have the majority in both houses of Congress, will they tell us what they plan to do?

Second one:sign a 6-11 month lease then the rent is $605/month. Third one: month-to-month rent is $655. I am from California and not familiar with texas rent law. Please Help!!! Thanks all

Looks like both parties are getting the message loud and clear..Everyone that voted made a difference whether your party won or lost the margins were so narrow that they will have to try to work together and thats real good for everyone !!
