Rumsfeld, along with Ashcroft and Cheney, were among the architects of the cold war scares decades ago. They use the same rhetoric, just changing the "enemies." I, for one, will be glad to see him go. During the cold war we talked about a thing called the military industrial complex. It has resurrected at the hands of these men and others of their ilk. Depends.. Personally I would rather see someone who involves the military in decision making as far as Iraq and the war on terror.. If he's resigning because of the promise made by Charles Rangel to" pull all funds to the military and leave them high and dry" then NO its not a good thing.. But that is what was promised if the Dem's gained power...

Great news indeed! Just checked on CNN website and he will be announcing that he will step down. I guess last nights election votes was a strong message to the White House.
