The democrats ran fiscally and socially conservative candidates. In all of their exuberant celebrations, the dems seem to have forgotten this fact.
I am curious to see how all of this will play out in the coming 2 years.

All politics are local. I was involved in a local house campaign. We used standard methods like print and media advertising, canvassing, phone banking, literature distribution and drops, and public speaking. But, please realize, that the single most effective weapon in the Democrat's taking back the house is the failure of Bush's policies.
