This is not meant to start some kind of big war of the words on yanswers. I just want to know if any other americans feel this way. What has happened to our country? Remember right after 9/11, the flags were flying, americans of all races and religions were standing hand in hand in support of this county and our president. The star spangled banner brought a tear of pride to your eye. I love my country. I stand behind it no matter what. What happened to that? I mean if you hate american so much, then leave ya know? All anybody does anymore is bash the president and the government and the economy, its just ridiculous. I get offeneded when people say bad things about my home that I love. And no, I dont agree with the president or the government or any of it all the time, but its still MY country, and I SUPPORT IT!!! what happened to patriotism??

I'm a small business owner and I need to hire 2 people for my business. In fact my business needs these 2 people to stay in business. I know I can afford to hire these 2 people at 6 dollars each. I hire 2 people who are high school drop outs and this is the only job they can find. They make the choice to work for me. I get the help I need and they get good experience for their resume. I expect them to use this job to aquire skills that will help them get a better paying job. In other words I expect them to use this job as a hand up. If minimum wage is increased to $7.00 I can only afford to hire one person. But I need 2 to run my business so I have to go out of business. Now I'm hurt because I no longer have a business and the two people I had employed are hurt because they no longer have a job. What do they do now? How is a minimum wage increase good for our country??

What is your stance on Mexican immagrants in the U.S. illegally, I don't really get it completely! I try to be fairly politically informed, but this is an issue I have been ignoring. What do you think, and if you don't mind... are you more democratic, or republican?

If you voted democrat, you prob. support: the killing of a living human being(abortion), gay marriages, stem cell research, and more. And whats up with the whole "we need a change" thing? Change what? Sending our troops to Iraq? Would you rather fight the terrorists here? I can't believe dems won in Ohio. I just hope the worst doesnt happen, Hilary in office! Not cause shes a woman, because shes Hilary!!! Back me up reps, or give a good reason why im wrong.

I found this at Associated Press:

PIERRE, S.D. - A woman who died two months ago won a county commissioner's race in Jerauld County on Tuesday.

Democrat Marie Steichen, of Woonsocket, got 100 votes, defeating incumbent Republican Merlin Feistner, of Woonsocket, who had 64 votes.

Jerauld County Auditor Cindy Peterson said she believes the county board will have to meet to appoint a replacement for Steichen. Peterson said she'll check with the state's attorney to be sure that's the process.

In a matter of moments, our nation has taken a backward step. Rather than building upon the lessons of the past, Americans choose a political party that has voiced their will to turn against our troops by cutting their funding, hoping for failure in Iraq, and to lesson our security measures that have helped safeguard this country since the attacks five years ago.

With an economy that has steadily improved since the fallout in 2001, and a nation at war against an extreme ideology, American’s have chosen not to “stay the course” but rather duck and run. Apparently, on November 7, 2006 we felt it necessary to vote in politicians who want to raise taxes to limit the economic growth, raise minimal wage in order to increase outsourcing of blue collared jobs, and limit our security measures allowing us to be more of a target to the outside world.

Some argue that Iraq is a bigger threat with Saddam Hussein out of power. I would suppose that may be true if you believe that Saddam would not have given way to Iran’s power or the Islamic hatred toward the Western World. Apparently an Iraqi leader defiant over 17 U.N. resolutions calling for oversight or face military action doesn’t matter either. Regardless, Iraq is at war with itself.

The party who has voiced its opposition to the Iraq war, who has called for imminent withdrawal and to honor human rights to the captives caught on the battlefield hoping to kill Americans last night received political power.

I would be shocked at last night’s events, but one would have to be disillusioned to be so. A nation that continues to defy moral and ethical values, a nation that continues to turn against those who fight and give their life to freedom and a nation that chooses politicians with European ideals can not be shocking.

One can only hope that the failure to act will not cause the rise of another world power such as Nazism. However, if you look back at history you would know that Winston Churchill warned against this a decade prior to the death of 7 million Jews and WWII. I hope you can use your senses and understand that the party voted in last night, could care less about the rise of extreme views of the Middle East, nuclear threats, or the likes of world leaders calling for the destruction of Israel and America.

America…now is the time to wake up.

I have waited at least 3 or 4 years for a major change in government. Now Rumsfeld has resigned and the democrats are in control and I just read the democratic agenda, but instead of feeling better, I'm still nervous. Is anyone else? Could I just be afraid of change in general? Is this normal?

I never thought this would actually happen. Americans finally woke up and all it took was 2500+ deaths, 3 wasted years in Iraq, a couple of scandals, 2 years of a do nothing congress, the biggest government ever and the most pork barrel project systems in history. This isn't about Republican or Democrat, but an incompetent and corrupt administration.

Ok so this is really embarrasing and I am starting to freak out. I lost my permit, I am 15 years old and I really need it in order to practice. Does anybody know if it is possible to get a new one? How much does it cost?
For everyone who is going to say you have to be more responsible don't say anything at all. I have already beat myself up over it and I am perfectly capable of reprimanding myself I just need help in solving the problem
