Democrats support gun control measures, most of which violate the Second Amendment. The effect of these measures is to reduce ones ability to buy and use a gun.
Defense of self and of ones family is a paramount right. All the others follow the 2nd Amendment.

This was definitely true in the past. Back in the late 60's thru the mid-90's, Democrats were definitely out to ban guns, or at least restrict the ownership of guns.
There are still many Dems today that favor that, but there are also many who disagree. In fact, many of the Dems who took seats away from the GOP yesterday, are pro-gun.
We always need to be vigilant, but the threat is not nearly as great as it has been in the past.

seriously though, its not democrats in particular... its a large population of the country... dont worry though... it takes an incredible lot to cancel an ammendment

People need to go back and read the bill of rights. the ENTIRE sentence is: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.
Because the early country depended heavily on local militias to ensure the security of our new country, they put this right in place. It was INTENDED to allow men involved in their local militia to carry firearms. Over the years this has been interpreted to mean that EVERY man, even if he isn't a member of a militia, should be allowed to carry firearms.
I seriously doubt our founding fathers would think it okay for citizens of this country to own multiple automatic weapons...
but that's just me. I'll get off my soap box now.

The Democrats will get rid of our guns. If you're not an NRA supporters, join. Our freedoms are going to be gone. If they are not gone already. In My stupid state of new york the are guns are going to be gone as of Jan 1

I don't believe that's true at all-we support gun control banning assault weapons...but I, like most, support individual rights. You need to look at your individual candidate. Of course, that's what republicans would like you to think. I haven't ever seen a politician elected in the West or Midwest that could be in favor of getting rid of people's guns and be elected. And, yes there's dems out here-look at Montana.

my opinion on this, if the dems want to stay in power, they need to drop the gun control issue as that is a losing measure for them.
