In a matter of moments, our nation has taken a backward step. Rather than building upon the lessons of the past, Americans choose a political party that has voiced their will to turn against our troops by cutting their funding, hoping for failure in Iraq, and to lesson our security measures that have helped safeguard this country since the attacks five years ago.

With an economy that has steadily improved since the fallout in 2001, and a nation at war against an extreme ideology, American’s have chosen not to “stay the course” but rather duck and run. Apparently, on November 7, 2006 we felt it necessary to vote in politicians who want to raise taxes to limit the economic growth, raise minimal wage in order to increase outsourcing of blue collared jobs, and limit our security measures allowing us to be more of a target to the outside world.

Some argue that Iraq is a bigger threat with Saddam Hussein out of power. I would suppose that may be true if you believe that Saddam would not have given way to Iran’s power or the Islamic hatred toward the Western World. Apparently an Iraqi leader defiant over 17 U.N. resolutions calling for oversight or face military action doesn’t matter either. Regardless, Iraq is at war with itself.

The party who has voiced its opposition to the Iraq war, who has called for imminent withdrawal and to honor human rights to the captives caught on the battlefield hoping to kill Americans last night received political power.

I would be shocked at last night’s events, but one would have to be disillusioned to be so. A nation that continues to defy moral and ethical values, a nation that continues to turn against those who fight and give their life to freedom and a nation that chooses politicians with European ideals can not be shocking.

One can only hope that the failure to act will not cause the rise of another world power such as Nazism. However, if you look back at history you would know that Winston Churchill warned against this a decade prior to the death of 7 million Jews and WWII. I hope you can use your senses and understand that the party voted in last night, could care less about the rise of extreme views of the Middle East, nuclear threats, or the likes of world leaders calling for the destruction of Israel and America.

America…now is the time to wake up.

The Republicans lost because they became complacent. Sure they lowered taxes, saved the economy from a major recession, and took the battle to the terrorist those are all facts. What they didn’t do was keep the American people aware enough to buy into their plans going forward. Republicans did a bad job of communicating and leading the American people

When people questioned the war in Iraq and they did not respond to their questions with facts, figures and examples of how things were going well. Instead they accused the people of being traitors and not supporting the troops. Instead of making an honest effort to communicate they said, “We’re doing a great job… now shut up.” That’s why Rumsfeld was the first to go after the election. It took a slap in the face to get their attention.

The Republicans let a pedophile run loose in the House and didn’t do anything. They should have exposed Foley immediately if not sooner after discovering his emails to House Pages. The Republicans lost the moral high ground on this and it might have been the single most important issue to bring down the Republicans in this election. It demonstrated how low they would stoop in order to stay in power. It was a great tragedy for those of us Republicans that find this type of behavior inexcusable.

The Democrats won and they don’t have a meaningful plan for anything. But people would rather hear “we can change things” than “shut up stupid.”

I think we Republicans need to regroup and clean out the closet. Rumsfeld is a good start. Republicans need plans for social security, medical care for the middle class, the redistribution of wealth in Corporate America and a plan to address the illegal alien problem. Bush introduced plans for most of these and they were rejected by the Republicans. It makes me sick. We deserved to lose this election. We need to recapture the moral high ground and get our act together if we don’t want a Democratic President and House in 2008. It might be too late already...

It does no longer be a situation, yet we are constantly passing the tax burden to the midsection classification. The oil marketplace gained $4 billion in rebates this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, even with earnings at or close to record highs. customary electric powered paid no Federal earnings Tax. Tax breaks for rich companies basically enables them to extra out-compete small companies. as quickly as they're in a position and sufficiently enormous, they deliver jobs out of the united states on each and every occasion a threat. Why pay a U.S. worker $10 consistent with hour once you pays an Indian worker $10 consistent with day?

Sadly, you are wasting your breath.

Democrats have a hatred of Bush and Republicans greater than a concern for the country and its citizens.

Unfortunately, more American lives lost on American soil will be the end result.

America moved forward buddy. The American people excercised their right to vote and they chose the Democratic Party to lead them over the next two years.

And PLEASE!!!! This is Yahooo-Answers, not your Political Science class. We don't need a 1,000 word essay. Just ask a Question.

This was a critical time in our history. We chose poorly. God help us all. Hopefully we can wake up for the presidential election.
