To maintain troop strength in the Iraq and continue with reasonable
military readiness in the US and in other interests around the world,
we'll need to have a draft in the next two years.

So: Either we adopt a draft, or we at least somewhat
reduce our operations in Iraq.

What is the morally correct action here?

- Shorten the war in Iraq, and make us safer by not giving terrorists a rallying issue.

- Make the US safer by implementing the 9/11 Commissions recommendations.

- Clean up the dirty lobbyist/lawmaker appeasement machine in Congress.

- Bring back the rule of law as exemplified by the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

- Keep a womans right to choose safe from the far right religious faction that wants to tell women what to do with their bodies.

- Promote Peace

- Improve our lives by cutting off the ability of Big Business to influence and even draft laws.

I agree with some of the things that Governer Pawlenty is campaining for and yet at the same time I agree with some of the things that Mike Hatch is campaining for. Does anyone have any thoughts for me as far as who I should vote for and why should I vote for that person?

I never vote for a party, I vote for the person who 'seems' less likely to make a mess of office regardless of party affiliation.

Why do the majority of people get stuck on bickering semantics and not focus on positive elements of party runners?

* Freedom of speech not withstanding.

I've never heard of such a thing. Also, I can't help but think that if there were tire slashers, they would be found on BOTH ends of the political spectrum.

There are pro's and con's to three major parties. Such as fragile minority governments causing more frequent elections. But less chance of pig-headed governments that are in a minority position.

I have a job and as a result, I am actually expected to be somewhere else during the voting. I didn't vote absentee because I don't trust the Democrats to count my ballot, and I'm not on welfare with the luxury of going to vote whenever I feel like it.

I recently heard of this fellow that shot himself. Cops were at his front door trying to arrest him for being a "Child Predator". Apparently, the cops had posed in a chat room as an under age kid and then busted the guy when he tried to solicit sex....

Question -

How can a cop do that? Where is the victim? How can you have a crime where someone is supposed to be victimized, but have no victim? Who is to say that this guy didn't THINK he was talking to cops or that he would have acted on this conversation???

I just think it is weird....

natural born citizen is not defined anywhere in the constitution, not even the 14th amendment. So if Congress, both house and Senate with signuture from the President were to pass a law to define natural born citizen "as both born in the US AND citizen for say at least 20 years" and if it is challenged in the Supreme Court and the Court upholds this definition and finds it constitutional, wont be able to by step the entire amendment process? Its a long shot, but a rational and logical argument. It might open the doors for Arnold, Governor Jennifer Granholm of Michigan and Senator Mel Martinez of FL. what do you think?
