YES to all that.. But more important, Democrats in the majority in congress will stop a one party rule!.. And no party should have as much power to wage useless wars and policies for profit that this government has done over the last 6 years.. In a word,
Accountability
This is what a democratic vote will do.

Since I am answering this a day after the fact, I will not answer the question as to what will happen for a vote to reinstate Democrats into power, since the election results have shown that Democrats have a majority in the House and will probably win a slim majority in the Senate, or at least a stale mate.

I will answer the question in the present tense. So what do Democrats winning a majority mean? It means that America has given the proverbial middle finger to the Republican Party for not doing what they should have done with the almost unmitigated power they were given – get our troops out of Iraq, wipe out the Al Qaeda leaders and major cells, concentrate on the real ideological and recruiting bases of terrorism (i.e. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia), stimulate the economy years ago through sound fiscal policy instead of allowing to go through the long ordeal of CORRECTING ITSELF (don’t take credit for it Neocons), and unifying the American people instead of dividing them.

OMG do you really think Democrats will do ANYTHING against Big Business? Wow. That's really amazing. Why didn't anything change when Clinton was in the White House, then? C'mon - Big Business owns BOTH sides. If you think differently, well, I feel sorry for you - you're in for one hell of an eye-opener.

Taxes will go up and bureaucracy will increase. The Iraq situation will go from horrid to completely disastrous and our military and intel budgets will again be underfunded.

The teacher's union will gain even more power, which is very sad for our children. Do you realize how hard it is to fire a teacher, regardless of how awful they may be?

Natural resource management will fade away to a insane conservation-only ideology. That's worked oh-so-well in California with those wildfires, hasn't it?

The 99% of Alaskan land that is NOT privately held will be locked up even further, yet the bitching and moaning about Alaska being a "welfare state" will get even worse. Don't want us to be a welfare state? Allow us to manage our own resources!!

I'm fairly certain that my vote for democracy (absentee) and many many more will burn in the county incinerator. Our clerks office has a rabid rebublican in it who last election managed to "loose" the requests for absentee ballots from registered Democrats. I'm registered Republican so I rec'd mine.

I'm hopeful but by no means confident that the poll watchers will keep things a little more on the up-and-up this time, but the bush-league has already written press releases for tomorrow explaining why all the opinion polls were wrong and how Democrats didn't mail their absentee ballots soon enough to be counted.

It will end the push for theocracy by the religious nut cases that have hijacked our religiously neutral country.

It will end the ability of our current administration to pass laws that eliminate the bill of rights.

In Colorado, a liberal vote will be in favor of legallized pot and making gay marriage legal. It also shows I am dissappointed with how the Republics and and Bush have run things.
Vote gay, stoned, and, liberal. Let the moral majority we are tired of how they want to run things.
