"we got into Iraq, we cannot undo history -- even recent history -- by simply pulling out and leaving events to take their course in that strife-torn country. Whether or not we "stay the course," terrorists are certainly going to stay the course in Iraq and around the world.

Political spin may say that Iraq has nothing to do with the war on terror, but the terrorists themselves quite obviously believe otherwise, as they converge on that country with lethal and suicidal resolve.

Whether we want to or not, we cannot unilaterally end the war with international terrorists. Giving the terrorists an epoch-making victory in Iraq would only shift the location where we must face them or succumb to them.

Abandoning Iraqi allies to their fate would ensure that other nations would think twice before becoming or remaining our allies. With a nuclear Iran looming on the horizon, we are going to need all the allies we can get."

I have a relative who was petitioned by her mother in Nov 1996 and she was approved in Nov 1997 for her I-131 (Mexico). It has been almost ten years and we have not heard any thing else from USCIS. The Bulletin shows that they are processing Chargeability dates of 1993. Can anyone based in their experience please tell me about how long is the average wait from the beginning of the application to the moment you are approved to travel to the USA?

Thanks
Robert

1. It is cheaper than prison.

2. It is clearly punitive. Many repeat offenders don't mind a spell in prison (the ex cons I've spoken to say prison wasn't so bad.)

3. It avoids the problem of separating mothers from their children

4. It is easier to compensate after false convictions (you can't replace the years lost in prison)

Of course it is not suitable in all cases but it could be compbined with incarceration.

She has been violent with me in the past (pushing & kicking me). Her own friend stopped her from striking me in the head with a glass vase, for asking her to return the house key, after calling me a *****. She does not speak to me unless she curses, she purposely messes the house constantly, vomiting in plastic bags toilets & the shower, she is a stripper, cut herself with blades in past, she does not contribute to the house cleanup nor financially, invites friends over to house to lay all over my furniture & bed, uses & eats food around the computer, smokes weed, placed lock on room door, moved in her troublesome friend who was kicked out of her grandmother's house for assault, her friends disrespect me while in the house, leaves bathrooms like gas station stalls, eats all groceries & trashes the floor with waste. Family fears she may burn down the house or kill me. Afraid with no control over daughter & unsure how to handle the situation without feeling guilty -Please help

the only way to win the war is to make them feel love in their hearts and minds for their fellow man and that will not be accomplished.
shouldn't we just bring our boys home and secure our borders and airports and refuse for any muslims to come into this country and anyone else that is considered a threat

The people have spoken with regard to illegal immigration. Both parties are not listening to the majority. How will you determine who you will vote for so that you are properly represented?

it's a cowardly way to fight, america hve done it in all thier wars including world war 2, they just dont hve the courage to fight house to house or man to man, even in iraq and afghanistan ,when freedom fighters are fireing from a house insitead of going in to fight ,they call in air strikes, no wonder the daeth toll it iraq is 650,000 dead, not counting dropping atom bombs on japan, and carpet bombing korean cities and vietnamese civillians with napalm and phospherous bombs.

I admit Bill Clinton supported Nafta but it was narrowly rejected by dems and STRONGLY supported by reps. The other trade agreements were always well supported by reps and well rejected by dems...THESE ARE THE FACTS FOLKS!

Earlier in the campaigns, I thought that the Republicans were just demonstrating how completely out of touch they were with the electorate. But, as the election draws near, it seems they are doing everything possible to alienate and outrage voters who might have been leaning toward their candidates.

Even in a forum as politically insignificant as Yahoo Answers, their supporters seem bent on going out of their way to present themselves and their cause in the worst possible light.

I thought the Democratic nomination of Walter Mondale was in indication of a giveaway election, but I've never seen anything like this!
