How do you know it was a unmarked police car? Do you live in a house or apt? Maybe they had the wrong address, I am sure if you had done something wrong they would have actually came to the door! Maybe they were watching someone down the street, they usually don't make themselves so obvious as to sit at your front door...

Usually an unmarked car is a detective. They may just be looking for answers. Usually for a warrant they send a sheriffs deputy to arrest you, or to serve papers. See if they left a card, they usually do. If they ask you to come in, call an atty. first.

You, somebody you live with, or a previous resident of your house, might be wanted and they might have a warrant or subpeona for them. Or they could be investigators and they just need to talk to somebody about a case or to ask you if you heard anything last night when your neighbors car got broke into. If you haven't done anything then you have nothing to be worried about. If you have done something it is better to turn yourself in, it looks better to the magistrate.

there are too many reasons that one could not even begin to start listing them all......have you done something wrong that you are being so paranoid? if not, then call the police station and find out what is going on......they might of even had the wrong address and it could be nothing!!!
You will never know till you call or they come back!!!!
GOOD LUCK!!!

They are investigating something. If they didn't get out of the car, then you shouldn't worry about anything, unless you have been doing something illegal. Then they were there gathering information for the drug raid they are going to do at your place later today.

They are setting up a sting operation at your neighbor's house to catch you looking at kiddie porn.
Who the heck knows. Go outside and ask them!

It is probably something in the neighborhood they are asking about - if you haven't been involved in anything illegal, I wouldn't worry - just call them and get it out of the way.
