He signed the fence bill, which as others have correctly pointed out, has no specific money appropriated for it. No cost estimates have been submitted to Congress, and there are issues with property owners, including sovereign indian tribes! along the way.

However, Bush has also proposed an amnesty program for people who've been here longer than 5 years, deportation for others and a guest worker permit for temporary seasonal workers. We'll see what happens after the elections.

The 700 mile fence was just a political ploy, no funding. The guard was a political ploy. no power to arrest and detain, un armed. Americans are seeing through that crap. The feel good vote for me stunts. We all know Bush wants amnesty. Republicans love illegals, they love cheap labor they can exploit and pay no benefits. All reasonable thinking Americans know that.

Not enough. His plan to build a 700 mile fence is o.k. but a wall would be better. And no "guest worker" permits. Thats a bad idea. Round up every illegal and ship them back where they came from, and then deduct the costs from that country's foreidn aid package.

The latest story is that many are working in the White House. Republicans love illegal aliens for they get off on paying people who work for them as little as possible.

Not really very much, although he did sign the bill sent by Congress agreeing to build the fence. Funding, of course, is another issue.
