Apparently the excuse always seems to be 'its in the constitution'. Im from the uk and we find it unbelievable everytime theres a another school shooting no attempts are ever made about regulating the firearms. Or is it the NRA are so big that they have an absolute control. You see these guys with M16 with grenade launchers saying its for 'home defense'. Surely a baseball bat would be sufficient. And im not some do gooder, ive handled many firearms myself.

Given that all of the political ads this year are either negative or totally stupid ideas, wouldn't it make more sense to have our votes reflect the negative nature of political campaigns?

What if we change the voting system to where we no longer vote FOR our favorite candidates, but cast our votes AGAINST the one we do not want under any circumstances, and let the winner be the one with the fewest votes? Would this bring our system more in keeping with the nature of the campaigns? Could it be an indirect method of campaign finance reform, by encouraging candidates to keep as quiet as possible, which doesn't cost any money?
Discuss.

The level of division in our country *due* to politics is my concern. I would have to say that at no time in history has the sanctity of our country been more threatened. We can't live blindly that our country is unified to the point that nothing bad can happen to us. We all need to start seeing that and putting our differences aside for the sake of our country.

Are there people on both sides of the political arena who feel this same way? If so, what should we do?

And if I'd lived in Germany during WWII, I wouldn't have supported Hitler's troops. I'm still not sure exactly what evil enterprise really motivated Bush/Cheney to invade Iraq and start the bloodshed, but why would I support the human tools they used for their nefarious purposes?

The Americans like to call the Iraqi freedom fighters Islamo-fascists, what exactly is this? Now a government who passes a law like the patriot act, alows certain torture invades sovereign countries and tells the rest of the world you are with us or we will **** you next, is this not Hitler like?

...whereby English will be the official language of the EU rather than German,.
As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English".
In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy.
The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.
There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.
In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.
Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.
