Doesn't Alaska recieve fishing subsidies and get goods at reduced prices to encourage habitation, from the US? Do they think a reduced population would enpower their representation?

Isolation is less..w/ less. Isn't it?

I mean seriously, Democrats are as diverse as trees in a rainforest. We don't all conform to one idea, like Republicans. And that's good philosophically, but it weakens us politically.

Ideas for solutions?

heres the scoop...the parents of a teen are suing the police department because their son was shot. the teen was climbing a fence and the officer shouted cease and desist. the teen turned to the right...the officer thought his life was in danger so he shot the teen ONE time. The teen was actually reaching for a cell phone located on his right hip...but the officer was unaware of this. it is important to the note that the victim continued to make movements after the officer said cease and desist.

I posted a question and due to complaints from the liberals who hate free speech Yahoo remover the question. The question they hated so much was this... "Is this the Liberals new theme song? http://marklevinfan.com/DNCThemeSong.swf ". Do you think the liberals are against real free speech or do they want free speech provided its what they approve of?

For my Technical writing class at New Mexico State University, I have to write a letter to congress about what we should do about the war in Iraq. My letter can not have anything to do with my opinion or biases. I would like to know what others think about the situation and what should be done.

Sanctions have not worked in the past when applied to countries like Iraq so what makes this case different. Is this all George Bush can come up with? What would you do if anything to protect world peace?

a) Avoid all major issues, talk about:
-how much you love puppies
-your donations to charity (as in....the campaign fund of other politicians)
-what an intelligent person Martin Luther King Jr. was

b) Stay out of pubic.
-Make TomKat's baby look like a nacissitic little doughgirl

c) Stop trying to seduce children and/or defending those that do

Most of you already have letter c completed, now work on the other two!

"Many sensible but bewildered people do not see much difference between Iran supporting and arming Hizbullah in Lebanon and the United States supporting and arming the Fateh security forces in Palestine, as both recipient groups are engaged in militant political activity and deep contests over the identity of their societies".

Attempts" by the United States and others in the region are a sign of the inability or unwillingness to do much more than that. Not only have they largely failed to address the issues that matter to the people -- sovereignty, security, economic well-being, a sense of dignity in day-to-day life -- but they have also managed to spread the consequences of their collective incompetence to cover most of this region".
Playing games with other societies and other lands has consequences for all players. The US now realizes (many of its citizens at any rate) that the World is a village. Better to look towards a longer term solution better for both, dont you think?

I was driving down to Texas to see an old friend when a herd or flock of beaners galloped into the road with their offspring. I spotted them several hundred yards ahead and accelerated to see what they were doing when before I knew it, I smashed into 11 of them with my truck! What should I do? Will the young survive without their mother?

This is a one sided question, I got the idea from some NeoCons who post one sided questions and only look for answers that fit their point of view, so you know what kind of answers I'm looking for.

Oct. 7, 2006 -

Come hell or high water-ran the conventional wisdom-Republicans could rely on two issues to win elections: the war on terror and values. Then came Mark Foley. The drip-drip-drip of scandal surrounding the former Congressman from Florida, which became a deluge this week, now threatens to sink Republican hopes of keeping control of Congress, says the NEWSWEEK poll out today.

And that was the good news for the GOP. More worrisome still, the Foley fiasco is jeopardizing the party’s monopoly on faith and power. For the first time since 2001, the NEWSWEEK poll shows that more Americans trust the Democrats than the GOP on moral values and the war on terror. Fully 53 percent of Americans want the Democrats to win control of Congress next month, including 10 percent of Republicans, compared to just 35 percent who want the GOP to retain power. If the election were held today, 51 percent of likely voters would vote for the Democrat in their district versus 39 percent who would vote for the Republican. And while the race is closer among male voters (46 percent for the Democrats vs. 42 percent for the Republicans), the Democrats lead among women voters 56 to 34 percent.
