heres the deal bro...i'm a correction officer in a new york state max. in upstate ny. i aint gonna tell you it never happens, but it's very rare. my prison has 1500 inmates and in the last ten years we've had two, and it isnt out in the open like that **** on tv. you are going to a fed joint man, you can do that time standing on your head, so kick back ...spin the yard and make good on that hustle...good luck

Prison life is hard
Don't make eye contact but don't look nervous
if you are challenged don't back down or you will be everyone's *****
Go to Church even if you aren't religious. you need allies and I think its better than joining a ethnic group
Don't shower alone. It might not save your "holes" but it lowers the risk
Prison is about those without power trying to feel power
do your best to stay out of the way but if crap finds you fight with everything you got because you are better off dead than at the bottom of the pile

It does happen, but normally if you owe someone something, there is a entire way of life, store goods have some specific value, sandwiches from the mess hall, ability to get certain things, yeast, do tattoo and so on.
The Federal Prisons are safer, but don't gamble, do borrow money or things in prison you don't pay back and so on.
It is not about sex, ( there are plenty of gay inmates that will have sex for fun or money) rape in prison is about violence

Unfortunately, it does happen. Alot depends on how you carry yourself. Be very careful, you don't want to eyeball anyone but at the same time don't show fear! You must be willing to fight and protect yourself regardless whether you will win or not. The fact that you are willing to fight gets respect. In prison respect is about all you got. Don't diss people, walk like a man, and find GOD!! Good luck and God bless.

In prison, yes it is real. Not so much in the local jails (around here at least), Guys who are there for crimes like child molestation and wife-beating get it the worst. Hope you're a big dude.

start working out and getting your fighting skills down...you'll need'em to defend against the rapists. You will team up with your own race in the pen. Yes its very real, didnt you ever see Shawshank Redemption?

If you have the nerve, show no fear ever. when you take a shower always make sure you don't drop your soap. However, just take it easy and respect yourself and others and you should get along fine. Try not to sleep with your mouth open or someone
may try to fill it with something long and hard. Cut your hair and try not to look cute............

Yes rape is uncommon but it happens. Murder and other violent assualts are much more common. You might brush up on your etiquette instead, if you show others respect and make friends you'll do much better than if you're just big.

some say its true and some say is an old myth. try not to go to jail to see if its real. id rather believe the myth than go in there and find out for myself.
