He left a threatening message on my phone and keeps harrassing my sister's boyfriend to tell him things about me...we want to do something about this before it gets worse but what do i do? The police dont always help! Do i take him to court for harrassment? And restraining orders dont keep people from coming near you.

I have no idea myself, and I'd really love to be able to understand this. I see news clips from soldiers saying they're in iraq to protect the US freedom, I see soldiers dieing for their beliefs.

How exactly was Iraq threatening our freedom? Even if we did go to war under false pretenses (Which I completely agree with), these guys still seem to be brainwashed into thinking they're doing the right thing.

I believe as much as the next guy that Sadam Hussein was an evil, arrogant prick that did not deserve to run a country, but how was he really threatening our way of life here in the US? Does anyone know? Does anyone have an answer other than the mindless crap that comes out of the whitehouse?

Is it just me, or do these guys have it all wrong, and they're simply dieing in order to appease some war monger we have in office that had to finish what his daddy started?

Please explain.

Just in case. I've been living at her place for three weeks and my boyfriend comes to see me at week-ends.I'm a minor and he's illegal.
My mother is likely to give me a break,because my step-father relapsed and she's got other things to worry about but my neighborhood sucks and there are some stupid concearned citizens .

Just watched Nancy Pelosi on TV, talking about 'Republicans putting the wealth of America in the hands of a few.'
She reminds me of African dictators talking about a 'redistribution of wealth.'
Wealth, in a functioning Capitalist society, which America is supposed to be, is not a finite thing, with portions handed out to individuals until there's nothing left.
Wealth is infinite, and perpetuates itself through hard work, ingenuity, perseverance - and let's face it - luck.

If this was not so, there would be no rags to riches stories, which are fairly commonplace in America.

I am considering joining the Air Force and I wanted to get the opinions of airmen. I heard how they take in to factor if you have a family. It's my husband and daughter with me and I want to make sure I won't be away from they too long.....Does the airforce really keep family in mind ...... are you ever deployed from them for long periods of time....

so im sitting in class the other day,,

these 3 asians guys, from thailand, vietnam and china
started throwing paper at this japanese kid.. and called him " that f*ckin jap" .
and in the halls i would always see the kid being shove by them

(i know of their races because they had to introduce themselves in class, and each said where they came from)

i can understand the chinese kid hating him, but why would the kid from Thailand and vietnam hate him?? it makes no sense?

I would hope that they are smarter than those who think that simply raising taxes raises more revenue (I feel sorry for those simple-minded types). Most people (I would hope) understand that tax rates and revenues do not work in that way.

"Tax cuts for the rich" (as Dems like to call them), have led to increases in tax revenues (and corp. revenues), so why do the Democrats continue to say that the "Bush" tax cuts led to greater deficits when it is so apparent that only excessive spending by an irresponsible and despicable Congress is to blame for such conditions?

What's up Dems? Why do you continuously spread misinformation and propaganda that has no basis in fact regarding this issue?

As for the rich, the top1% of taxpayers pay 37% of the federal personal income taxes. How is that for your so-called fair share? Don't forget that the money they make is theirs.

I was granted a restraining order on someone I dated 3 years ago. He has repeatedly violated the restraining order, as he suffers from bi-polar disorder. He is violent and has escaped from mental hospitals before. The restraining order is up this March, is there such a thing as lifetime restraining orders in California? How would I go about getting one?
